Lubbock Habitat hosts donation drive
Individuals encouraged to bring items to The Home Depot on 50th Street
[LUBBOCK, Texas] (October 18, 2013) – Lubbock Habitat for Humanity is
hosting its ‘Another Man’s Treasure’ event at The Home Depot on 50th Street
Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items collected during the event
will be sold to the public through the organization’s ReStore. All funds generated
will support Habitat’s building program.
The event will give people in the community a chance to recycle household items
for a good cause. Lubbock Habitat will use these items as stock for its ReStore
which generates financial support for the construction of homes. “We’re looking
for those items that are new or gently used and can be resold to individuals
looking to remodel or update their homes,” said Habitat’s president, Lonnie
Hollingsworth.
Lubbock Habitat is committed to its mission of eliminating poverty housing and
invites the community to join in. By recycling their household and building
items, donors can make room for new items in their homes all while helping a
family in need.
Habitat will put on the event with help from various Texas Tech student groups.
Sponsors include Home Depot and Choice Media. Anyone looking to get
involved with the event or Lubbock Habitat in general should contact (806) 763‐
4663 or log on to lubbockhabitat.org. Those interested in shopping the ReStore
can visit our location at 2910 Avenue N.
