A Discussion with Carol Bellamy
on Primary Education
In honor of UN Week, World Learning is proud
to host a discussion with Carol Bellamy, board
chair for the Education for All Fast Track Initiative. The Education for All Fast Track Initiative is
a global partnership between donor and developing countries, as well as multilateral institutions
and civil society organizations, to ensure accelerated progress towards the Millennium Development Goal of universal primary education by
2015. Bellamy previously served as president
and CEO of World Learning, executive director
of the United Nations Children’s Fund and director of the Peace Corps.
The event will feature brief remarks from Bellamy,
followed by a Q&A session moderated by Carol
Jenkins, World Learning senior vice president
for international development and exchange programs. Light refreshments will be served.

Grievances and Motivations
This event will bring together a distinguished
panel of current USIP grantees to discuss motivations and grievances of the insurgents in Afghanistan and in Pakistan, feasibility and challenges of negotiations with Afghan insurgents,
and the perceptions of Pakistani youth about the
future of their country.
