The composer feels that dynamic markings are a pretty blunt instrument which have
a dictatorial effect. Therefore dynamics are left to the ensemble, both pre-arranged
and spontaneous. Dynamic changes should be natural and organic but this does not preclude
large or sudden changes.
Legato and full-length notes are the default.
Vibrato should be used expressively, not as a default and never for tuning purposes.
