The Red Bull Infiniti rumour
It all started last Friday morning, when the press agency PRISM issued a press release,
declaring soberly: "Major luxury automotive brand enters F1 with world championship
What came after that was the time of traditional questions and the quest for elements
announced. Some people talked about a Williams deal with one of Group VAG’s luxury
brands, such as Porsche. Nevertheless, this looks a bit to be done in anticipation, and 2013 is
more probable a year for this. The Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren hypotheses seems to be
very unlikely to happen, if ever. As for Lotus Renault GP, there is no interest in it, for the
announcement has already been made.

towards 2013 – but it cannot be affirmed right now. So it looks to be a sponsoring such as
Lada in Lotus Renault GP.
The renaming could occur in the future if Renault’s direction esteems that the two Lotus
teams are doing enough to promote Renault in its communication, so as to emphasize a brand
of the group with a real sportive range for the third team. The fans will remain with the idea
of “Infiniti is Renault, plus a badge” and the average dude could hear about this brand with no
effort through advertisement or in newspapers; while communication will go well beyond
All of this nevertheless remains to be confirmed, what should come really soon now. But we
may regret that a probable renaming would not involve one of the two Lotuses so as to avoid
