Volume 13, Number 3 • Spring 2011

New Season,
New Club
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the first “electronic” version of the
Collector’s Club Journal newsletter. If you are
reading this on your computer screen you have
succeeded in downloading the newsletter in
PDF format and are enjoying our latest news,
tips and photos.
Trick or Dog Treats
(no. 12887)

As you know, the Lemax Collector’s Club has transitioned to an online format, with Club discussions, photo posting and news being
hosted on our own Facebook page. But we do intend to bring you a
“roundup” of items in newsletter format. But instead of printing and
mailing a paper newsletter, we’ll be sending this electronic version.
It is faster and, since we are not using paper or transporting printed
newsletters via truck or airplane, the new format has less impact on
the environment.
If you have not been to our Facebook page
yet, what are you waiting for? Getting a
Facebook account is simple and free, and
the Lemax Collector’s Club Facebook
page is a great way to keep up with Lemax
news, new products and ideas from other
Lemax enthusiasts.
We hope you will “Like” our Facebook
page and become a regular visitor and
contributor.

Display Contest Winners

O

ur 12th annual Lemax Village Display Contest was another success! Thanks to all who entered
our Village Display Contest. You all continue to delight us with your creativity! We are very
pleased to announce the winners…

First Prize: Richard Coyne,
Bluffton, South Carolina
Richard continues to impress with
his innovative design and great
attention to detail. This year his
village carried a Victorian theme,
and he used a large number of
figurines to add vibrancy and
a sense of activity and motion.
Richard also included a North Pole
scene that nested up under his
Christmas tree, a very nice touch.
Well done, Richard! Keep up the
great work!

More Contest Winners
Second Prize: Rodney Stuber &
Cheriel Haydon, Mechanicsburg,
Pennsylvania
Rodney and Cheriel submitted an
elaborate Spooky Town village that
celebrates the spirit of Halloween.
They began building Lemax displays
in 2007. This year’s “Spooky Trails”
display took 360 hours to complete (!)
and represents some of the “haunted
Halloween” themed attractions near
their home. The village even
extends onto the top of Rodney
& Cheriel’s kitchen cabinets!

Third Prize: Sandie Branan,
Mechanicsville, Maryland
Sandie’s village features several
distinct neighborhoods, with over
100 Lemax buildings and more than
420 figurines. It is certainly a bustling
town, with activity taking place in
each section. Sandie’s village was
featured in the local newspaper and
the Chamber of Commerce included
her “ribbon cutting” ceremony on its
Facebook page.
