* Paolo Barnard is a senior foreign correspondent and author from Italy. He has worked for a number
of national newspapers in Italy (Corriere della Sera, La Stampa, Il Mattino…) and was the co-founder
of Italy’s most controversial investigative TV programme, Report (RAI Television, third channel). He
has published four books and a long series of political essays both in national monthly publications
and on the web. He has been a radio broadcaster and frequently gives public talks on the subject of his
