Stikins Name Labels Are The Ideal Solution For Labelling Clothes
and Other Items
In 2003 a new kind of name label was developed and launched which does not need to be sewn or
ironed, it simply sticks onto the wash care label in clothes and survives washing and drying . Called
Stikins, these labels are now used by thousands of UK mums in millions of garments. The product is sold
in assorted packs containing labels for garments, shoes and general school items.
Labelling your child’s clothes, shoes and possessions is all part of helping them to start school or nursery.
They will almost certainly lose something, and the name label helps staff and other mums to return
things, most probably by swapping things back!
Some iron on labels are now very good but equally some are useless, the problem for parents is that all
suppliers will say their labels are good, and there is no way of knowing until the labels are in a washing
machine what the quality is like. Hot irons and children do not mix, so attaching iron on labels will be a
job for adults. Label Planet’s Stikins labels can be applied by older children, Stikins are also easier and
much more convenient to use. Many parents tend to find that iron on labels come off in the wash.
Names used to be embroidered by hand onto clothes and the most attractive name labels today are still
embroidered, but by machines and then they need to be sewn into clothes. Many mums do not have
time to sew labels into clothes and either try to write the name on the garment label or use iron-on
name labels. For non-sewers, busy parents or large families, sew in labels can be a nightmare.
Stikins are a solution to a range of annoying and unnecessary problems caused by the above alternative
types of name labels such as sew-in and iron-on labels. Stikins® self-adhesive labels are easy to apply,
durable and easy to read.
Stikins labels provide an easy alternative and are now supplied as two types: The original Stikins labels
have “H” shaped labels that stick onto wash-care labels, the bars of the “H” wrap around to help the
name label stay on, shoe and micro labels are also supplied in the same material as a label set. In May
2010, New Stikins name labels were launched. These super sticky, super thin vinyl labels can be used on
wash-care labels , but also on all other kinds of school items.
New Stikins are the result of a breakthrough in the adhesive and label material manufacturing industry.
The adhesive bond is washer-proof, and the unique vinyl material is so soft and pliable that it won’t
cause any irritation or discomfort. The size of the label (30mm by 15mm) is also a perfect size for
labelling all sorts of other school items.
Label Planet Ltd in Cheshire is the company that supplies these labels, and its web site is at www.namelabels.com.
