ITTY BITTY MARINER’S BLANKIE

A close work friend is having a baby and I couldn’t find anything I liked. Taking the double-knit and her
lighthouse/nautical theme, I ran with it. If you have any questions, please let me know.
The corner charts may be amended for any chart you wish. I have included charts for an anchor and sailboat; however,
any chart will work with the math if it is 13 stitches x 20 rows.
Cast on 118 stitches (counting the double stitches as one. A total of 236 will be on the needles when finished).
Edging:
Rows 1-12: Work 2 rows in main color then switch to contrasting color for 2 rows. Repeat twice for 3 sets of stripes
totaling 12 rows . Continue stripes for 10 border stitches. Knit 10 in main color, place marker, knit 98 in main color, place
marker, knit last 10 border stitches in main color. 10 border stitches will continue in stripes.
Main body
13-19: Knit 7 rows in main color,
20-39: 10 border, 10 main color, 13 stitch charts (A or B), 52 main color, 13 stitch chart (A or B), 10 main color, 10 border
stitches.
40-46: 7 rows main color
47-114 :10 border stitches, 13 main color, 72 lighthouse chart (C), 13 main color, 10 border
115-121: 7 rows in main color
122-141: 10 border, 10 main color, 13 stitch charts, 52 main color, 13 stitch chart, 10 main color, 10 border stitches.
142-148: 7 rows main color (or till you reach contrasting color row on the edging)
149-160: 12 rows border in 2-row stripes
Bind off in your favorite bind off. I used the stretchy bind-off (knit 2 together, transfer to left needle, and continue to the
end. With double-knit, it’s really more like knit 4 together with both strands)
