your life back on track.

Let yourself admit that you are depressed. As the old saying goes, the first step in treating a problem
is admitting that you have a problem. Admit to yourself that you are depressed. It's not your fault; you
have a legitimate psychological condition. Just allowing yourself to stop feeling guilty about your
feelings can be a large step toward treating them.

Admit to your friends and close family that you have a problem with depression. While you shouldn't
become co-dependent on someone who allows you to sleep all day while they take care your life for
you, it can be helpful to have some support. A good friend will be there for get-togethers even if you're
not the life of the party. One of the best ways to treat depression is to set up a regular meeting with
someone who will be disappointed if you don't show up. Even if you don't feel like getting out of bed
that day, you'll feel obligated to go, and you'll probably feel better for doing it.

Try to reduce the amount of stress in your life. While eliminating all stress is of course impossible,
reducing stress can make your depression easier to bear. The more stressed you become, the higher
the likelihood of you feeling overwhelmed and failing to complete tasks, then feeling guilty for that
failure, which leads to feeling further depressed. Make your life simple and straightforward, with an
easy set of daily tasks to complete. Forcing yourself to complete a regular routine will help you to
realize that things aren't all bad.

Adjust your sleep schedule so you're getting the right amount of sleep, not too much or too little.
Sleep disturbances are a major symptom of depression. Some people suffer from insomnia and can't
sleep at all, while others will sleep sixteen or eighteen hours a day. Both too much and too little sleep
can exacerbate the symptoms of depression. Set up a bedtime routine and a time to get up in the
morning, and stick to it. Having a regular routine before you go to bed will help to stave off insomnia,
while getting up at the same time each day will prevent you from over-sleeping.

As you can see, the steps to reclaiming your life from depression start from the very simple point of
admitting that there is a problem in your life and going from there. Letting yourself heal is the most
important thing you can do to get over depression. Severe depression can easily take over your life,
so it's important that you start trying to make things better right away, rather than putting it off until
