Wine Varieties Of The Loire Valley By Blakeney Bridge Wine
Loire ValleyThere are three primary grapes varieties which are grown from the Loire Valley - Muscadet,

Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. Your Sauvignon Blanc grape creates refreshing, highly detailed
wines which have a pins and needles blackcurrant, gooseberry and green apple style. According to
experts from Blakeney Bridge Wine, some of the best types of this grape variety originated from the
chalky soils surrounding the People from france town of Sancerre, where the wine takes on the acidic
, pungent and vivid character. Not far from here is placed the town of Pouilly-Fume, whose wine have
an earthy taste produced from the local flint-rich soils.
The suppliers of Chenin Blanc in the Loire Valley produce many different versions of this wine; a few
are sparkling, others dry, and others still are sweet. Dried up Chenin Blanc wines range from strong,
impetuous wines, to buttery, honey scented wines. Some of the most popular dry Chenin Blanc wines
from this region contain Savenniere and Vouvray Sec, both of which require several years of aging.
The third main white grape found in this valley is Muscadet, which is a dry, relatively neutral wine. When
shopping for Muscadet wine from the Loire region, Blakeney Bridge Wine say to look for the phrase ‘sur
lie’ on the label, which means that the wine has been aged while using the residual yeast sediment left
after fermentation. This method of growth gives the wine depth and persona.
Loire Valley red wineAlthough the Loire Vly is most well known for the white wines which it produces,
there are several interesting red varieties manufactured here too, which offer exceptional value for money
. These reds include plenty of fruit flavours, such as plum, raspberry, redcurrant and grass. While a few of
these reds are quite full-bodied, a lot of the Loire red wines are decidedly lightweight in comparison to the
typical New World reddish. The major red grape from the Loire Valley is Cabernet Franc, nevertheless
Blakeney Bridge Wine say that there is also a small percentage of Pinot Noir produced in northern the
valley - this tends to be slightly lighter and milder than in red Burgundy.
