Dropped Stitch Scarf
Supplies
Unplanned Peacock Studio DK weight yarn, 4 skeins for the scarf
and 6 skeins for the shawl. These skeins can be in 2 colors that
complement each other or all of the skeins can be the same.
About 5 yards of waste yarn
12” #10 needles
Construction of scarf (shawl): With waste yarn, cast on 33 (47) sts.
Knit 2 rows. Join 2 strands of DK yarn, and knit with 2 strands of
DK held together for the rest of the project. Row 3: Knit. Row 4:
Knit into the back of each stitch to make a row of twisted stitches.
Knit until you are out of yarn, leaving enough for a bind off row.
Bind off row: *Bind off 5 sts. Pull the loop of the 5th stitch open and
bring the live yarn balls through the loop, and pull tightly. Knit 2
sts. Repeat 3 (5) times. Bind off final 5 sts. Remove needle. Remove
the waste yarn and drop stitches all the way down the scarf. It won’t
unravel!
