One Skein
Scarf
by Natasha Laity Snyder
for Unplanned Peacock Studio
This pattern makes a quick and easy lacey scarf. It
is a simple pattern that is quick and perfect for beginners.
Supplies
Unplanned Peacock Studio
Falkland Islands Bulky yarn, 1 skein
#11 needles
yo= yarn over
K1= knit one
Construction of scarf
Cast on 17 sts. Knit 8 rows.
Row 9: K1,[yo, K1]*, *repeat till end of row.
Row 10: Knit across, dropping all of the yarn overs off of the needle.
Row 11, 12: Knit
Repeat rows 9-12 until the scarf is 42 inches long. Knit 8 rows, bind off.
Note: You can make this scarf with any 100 g skein of yarn. Just multiply the guage of
the yarn (in sts/inch) you want to use by 5, add 1 if that number ends on a 0, and cast
on with the recommended needle size! For instance, sock yarn with a guage of 7 sts/
inch on a size 3 needle would have a cast on of 45 and you’d knit with a size 3. Keep
knitting until you have about 4 yards of yarn left, then knit 8 rows and bind off.
