Door chimes As Good Security Measures

Sometimes, door chime need not to be those that are placed by the door for people to push when they
visit the home. For security reasons, what some people could do is to use door chimes in ways that
would warn them about people who may be unauthorized to enter their home or building.
Currently, there are many kinds of door chimes in the market. As previously mentioned, the usual
thought that enters the mind when we hear people say door chime is the door bell; which we often see
outside the doors of a lot of homes. These are the ones that make the “ding dong” sound when the
visitor pushes on the button outside the door.
Modern technology has now made other variants of door chimes that are not only used in the home,
but also in different establishments; even those that are considered high security establishments.
One way to use modern door chimes is usually for security purposes. An example is in stores where a
door chime is installed at the door. When the door opens, the chime will alert the store keeper that
there’s a customer. This is helpful especially for those big stores with few workers, especially those with
lots of aisles.
There are other variations to this type of door chime. There are also those that are activated through
infrared. See those beams of red light usually seen in movies? When an unauthorized person passes on
this beam at a door, then the chime will be heard throughout the establishment. Something like this
could be a great way to ensure the security of a place, especially if there are important things kept in a
room or an office. This type of chime could also be used in windows and even across rooms.

Other types of door chimes are connected to a security monitor. This way, not only does the door make
a sound when somebody enters, but whoever enters will also be recorded in a security camera. This is
usually done in events where high security is needed such as in banks or even in facilities where high
tech equipment is being developed.
Door chimes are a great addition to any home or establishment. It is an excellent security measure. If
the chime does not scare the ill-intentioned away, then at least the owners will have a way of knowing
that their home has been invaded; and as for establishments, then this should help to alert the security
personnel and the police.
