JANUARY 2013

CAPTAIN'S UPDATE
I'm sure everyone is getting fed up with this weather – not
very golf-friendly but it will get better! (just don't know
when!) However some good news - the clubhouse is looking
good with its new harling and paint.
It's a good time to start planning if there are any open
competitions that you want to play when the season get
underway. You can get a comprehensive list at
www.happygolf.co.uk
The only thing left for me to do is wish you and yours a very
Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you all in 2013
Yours in golf!

CHRISTMAS LUNCH
The Christmas lunch on Sunday 16th December was attended by 14 in the Clubhouse at
2pm. Everyone enjoyed a two-course meal prepared and served by the Catering team.
Many thanks to Esther, Sarajane and Eloise who coped admirably with the various requests
for custard or cream or both and even custard alone! Here are a few pictures of the day
and our 'special' visitor and his little helper!

On the 23 of December 42 children had a

The raffle was drawn on the 23rd and all winners
will be contacted direct.
The winter league will continue over the next
few months.

the face of the club in order to obtain more
back spin - FALSE

ETIQUETTE
Pace of Play

➢ It is a group's responsibility
to keep up with the group in
front. If it loses a clear hole
and it is delaying the group
behind, it should invite the
group behind to play
through, irrespective of the
number of players in that
group
➢ Where a group has not lost
a clear hole, but it is
apparent that the group
behind can play faster, it
should invite the faster
moving group to play
through.
