Nervous but Excited
The Sun, left to its late-day slanting over the Western hills, gives one last burst of ultraviolet
radiance, just to remind me of my place here.
The Wind, gentle and effervescent, playing in the smallest of spaces and dancing in the trees,
running wild in the great open skies while kissing the clouds, suddenly whips up a small storm, and a
particularly particulate spat of sand gusts through my eyelashes, my irises taking on a reflection of the
fiery rays and reddened with the remains of this Heart’s deepest wishes.
The Water, lapping and laughing, forms a fluid circuit, swirling currents like spirals, an ebbing,
flowing aqualogy, each moment something new and something different from the beachscape I thought
I knew. Tiny green photophiliac algae waves to me from its shallow home, and I lose count looking at its
little arms, tiny hands.
I’m not quite sure how I got here, or why, or what it all means. The smooth road I thought laid
before me turned to dirt and became a vein-like network of choices, muddied in my free will. The path
was not perfect, and it was never something I could go back on.
The Soul, and the Self, is moving, and constantly seeks to find its center among the dizzying pace
of the speed of thought; may I always try to keep up with it.
