Department of Pharmacy Practice
The Department of Pharmacy Practice run by
Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences,
associated with the Government General Hospital
(GGH), Guntur which is concerned with the safe,
effective and economic use of medications. The
department is located on 2nd Floor, Out Patient
Department Block, GGH. Our vision is to lead in the
responsible provision - related care for the purpose of
achieving definite outcomes that improves the patient’s
quality of life. Presently we are training 90 students of
Pharm.D & working efficiently with other health care
professionals by providing clinical pharmacy services to
the various departments of the hospital.
Department of Pharmacology (Pharmacology
Research Laboratory) maintains sophisticated and
advanced pharmacological research instruments.
Pharmacology research laboratory (PRL) is well
supported with state-of-art, air conditioned, CPCSEA
approved central animal house facility and Post
operative care room. All the pre clinical studies are
carried out with the prior approval of IAEC members
including CPCSEA nominee.
CIPS Alumni Association (CIPSAA) includes
300 alumni members and performs activities like
publishing CIPSAA News letter, therapeutic news letter
and organizing seminars conferences and workshops.

Our Activities (Pharmacy Practice)
 Drug Information Services
 Monitoring completeness & accuracy in adherence to
the drug therapy
 Patient counselling
 Monitoring & reporting of adverse drug reactions
 Preparation of Patient Information Leaflets (PIL)
 Monitoring & assessment of drug interactions etc.

Aim & Objective
This symposium aims to improve and share the
knowledge on clinical pharmacy and pharmacol
ogy which are imperative in the present clinical
environment. This will impart necessary commu
nication among the students in all clinical pharm
acy and pharmacology areas results in advancem
ent of pharmacy practice and research studies.

Who should attend
M.Pharm (all branches) / B.Pharm and
Pharm.D students who want to remain abreast
of new developments in clinical studies and
other pharmacy practice areas.

individually.
