Property Damage Guide
INSTRUCTIONS
Please take all shots listed on this guide (in blue) and those referenced in the “SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS” section of
the e-mail we sent you. Adjust the camera resolution settings for a range between 1224 x 768 & 3296 x 2472 for
appropriate size and faster upload. For mobile phones with a 5+ MP camera, make sure to hold the phone
horizontally & select “large” when choosing file size. Please upload your photos, written description, and sketch
directly at www.onsourceonline.com/login immediately after you complete the assignment.
1. Each field inspection should include a sufficient number of photographs to show the property as a whole, the
damaged area(s), and a close up of the actual damages. Required photos are:

2. Please provide a write-up that describes the damages to us as clearly as possible, try to include type of
materials, textures, etc. Ask the customer if you can’t ascertain the type of material (i.e. what is it made out
of?) and the approximate age (i.e. how old is it?).
3. Photographs from multiple angles are needed and should be labeled by direction (north, south) or by name
(front, rear, right side, left side). All photos need to be labeled with a description of what is being viewed.
4. Take measurements and provide a sketch (take a picture of the sketch to upload it):
a. If interior:
i. Room measurements to include height, width and length of room measurements that are within 3” of
the actual dimension
ii. If same flooring/same paint/open floor plan, please provide measurements of the adjoining rooms.
iii. Sketch/ Diagram of Damaged rooms should be provided with dimensions noted
b. If exterior:
i. A Sketch of ALL damaged Exterior, to include but not limited to Fences, Retaining Walls, Siding,
Decking, Porches, Lighting and HVAC systems with dimensions and descriptions. Description should
include quality, type of materials, brand name, model and age if available.
ii. Damage to landscape should include dimensions of the damaged area and overall pictures of the
surrounding area.
iii. Shrubs/Tree damage, provide the quantity, height and description of damaged trees or shrubs.
