Adventures of Van Helsing
Van Helsing is a hipster. Annihilated monsters long before this new wave of vampires
and winged creatures that seem to have taken over all means of entertainment. The
name will forever be associated with the 2004 film in which Hugh Jackman wore the
skin of Gabriel Van Helsing, monster hunter. But what perhaps many of you do not
know is that Stephen Sommers film was an Cheap GW2 Gold homage to the films of
the 1930s and 1940s which in turn was inspired by the book by Bram Stoker. And
when is that Stoker wrote the book Dracula? In 1897. Therefore, the name Van
Helsing is not a success overnight, however, it is still a success.
Therefore, it is not surprising that this universe remains palatable to various forms of
entertainment. The latest by the name of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing
and is a Role Playing Game of action created by Neocore Games Studios exclusively
for the PC. The player embodies the son of Abraham Van Helsing - the character in
the book by Bram Stoker - while the young man tries to maintain the perpetuity of the
name associated with the fearless adventures, which quickly translates into a war
between magic and science that spreads through the European lands of Borgovia.
Van Helsing is never alone - and I'm not referring to the multiplayer, for that read
some paragraphs below. Accompanying him every step is Katarina, a fellow ghost
who besides serving to help to freshen the gameplay, is always present to initiate
dialogues almost always funny, often add much to the history of the game.
The way it refines the gameplay is linked intrinsically to do it for her, or rather, how
they evolve their skills. Despite not having the complexity of the main RS Gold
character, Katarina also level up, can be equipped with the best items and may
determine how it behaves on the battlefield, giving it the prominence it deserves as a
supporting character . Besides all this, as happens, for example, with your pet in
Torchlight, Katarina can send the location closer to "dump" items that have more in
Fortunately, the producers realized that it would be quite difficult to have two
characters with the same complexity, therefore, may view the range of abilities and
customization as a light version of the character you directly control.
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing has an interesting approach to the
traditional gameplay in this kind of games. At any point in the game can switch
between the two primary weapons that are at your disposal: a gun or a sword.
Although diversify combat, this creates some ambiguity. Yes, you can switch between
the two weapons - and subsequent styles of play - but can hardly keep the two skills
together, which leads you to make a tight management division skills. Most likely
choose one of the two and make your changes as far as possible, in my case, I chose
to give priority to sharp bladed weapons. All this wealth of options is reflected in the
way Desserts level and allocate skills. Even if you do not you can choose a class, as
Van Helsing has at its disposal various derivatives of swords, guns and even magic,
the way will improve your Old School RS Gold skills is something deep and requires
Another point to be emphasized is the use of Rage, an independent good of your mana
and energy. As they struggle, your Rage meter fills up and when the time is right, it is
used to strengthen the next attack. Again, it is up to you to determine the best time to
use, it might be a boss, perhaps a more complex group of enemies, believe that the
timing of its use is more important than looks.
To try to break ties with the traditional gameplay of the genre, the game includes
some sections that we have to defend our "home" of the outbursts of enemies, which
exudes "tower defense" from every pore. We can go deal with each enemy directly or
spreading many pitfalls along the way. Their inclusion will always be debatable, but
personally I thought that play very well its function: to momentary rest the traditional
gameplay. Furthermore, moments of genuine tension, which is always healthy.
Be this or any other Role Playing Game of action, all this preparation and study serves
mainly to have a character ready to deal with what the game put in our way. However,
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is not always the game more homogeneous.
The game has moments of extreme injustice, with peaks of more severe difficulties
than a sheet taken from a seismograph. With all the skills well distributed, with the
best possible weapons, and once even with a companion flesh in cooperative mode,
with all this and with a well-defined strategy, several times the game has become
practically impossible, coming to multiply tenfold the damage that was inflicted on
me. Admittedly, after several attempts we managed to overcome these areas, however,
were always the ills and troubles: if the game is going to kill us mercilessly, all the
care and management fall away.
Speaking of multiplayer, after several attempts, managed to create a game so he could
experience the multiplayer game and several Katarina Van Helsing and despite the
latency being unremarkable, still cannot understand why the way in which probably
the most part of the players will play not include the reappearance of enemies. I had
the feeling that to give more dynamism to the RS GP game, forcing us to progress in
the story in order to fight hordes of new enemies, the producer forgot that there are
players who like to test the new skills and prepare adequately to meet the new
enemies with a character more developed - indeed, to do the opposite peaks of
difficulty, it is practically mandatory.
Technically, the game is quite interesting. The scenarios have a few strokes
steampunk, which helps an inviting atmosphere, however, the producer must have felt
compelled to take us a few scenarios that seem mandatory gender, breaking a little
variety and thematic. However, the highlight goes to the location of the entire game
for Portuguese, something that caught us off guard. Although some translations least
achieved some technical errors and sporadic, generally the English version is quite
