As part of the celebrations of the Ardoyne Fleadh , 'Fightin' Talk' will be a feast of nostalgia for all fans of boxing. The
event, which will be hosted by local boxing writer Barry Flynn, will cover the history of boxing in the Ulster Hall,
beginning in 1887 with the visit of world heavyweight champion, John L Sullivan.
There will be clips of Rinty Monaghan, John Caldwell, Freddie Gilroy, Jim McCourt and many other greats who have
graced the arena.One of the guests will be the poet John Campbell who will read extracts from his writings on the
history of local boxing. There will be clips of Barry McGuigan as well as the classic fights between Hugh Russell and
Davy Larmour. Some of the amateur finals will be featured have some rare footage of the all Larne clash between Dave
'Boy' McAuley and Roy Webb.
