EElija on Thursday. The family was great and
they already had a list, so it made things go
eeasy. They picked up some electronics at Best
ddinner at Red Lobster. Elija was so thankful and
ssurprised that this was really happening. His
Mom kept it a secret until the limo pulled up
aat their house. We were able to get discounts
aat Penny’s and Best Buy, and Red
Lobster comped the complete dinner.
A Playhouse Getaway
Olivia, who has struggled with thyroid cancer, always wanted
a playhouse. Olivia’s father began building a playhouse but
Harley, who is a Dream Factory dream recipient, wanted to
walkway in order to easily and safely access the playhouse. This
dream is a fantastic story of a dream recipient helping a dream
recipient. Thanks to Lowes, YouthBuild, Boy Scouts and
Donnie Brewer for making this dream come true!
with Taylor Swift
Dear Dream Factory;
Just wanted to thank everyone who worked so hard on
organizing Rose’s dream.
We all had the most incredible day. Everyone is still talking
about how exciting it was to meet Taylor Swift, especially Rose.
I don’t know how to thank you for the most incredible day.
Rose had so much fun. The smile on Rose’s face is something
a parent could never forget, she just grinned from ear to ear.
The concert was awesome. Rose sang her little heart out and
danced through the whole concert.
Thank you again for such an incredible evening. Even with Rose’s lack of memory, I
know she would never forget May 7, 2013.
Thank you so much.

Meeting with R2D2
Thank you Dream Factory for making Luke’s dream come
true. Luke got to meet R2D2, his very favorite Star Wars
character. He is a little shocked in this picture, as you can
see! He was very thrilled to see all the characters during
Star Wars weekend. He saw parades, did Jedi Training and
rode Star Tours 4 times! He also loved Thunder Mountain
and all the neat souvenirs he got.
Thank you for helping make his
dream come true.
The Garr Family
Dear Dream Factory;
I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful it was to have Sarahs Dream granted. It was above
and beyond anything we could imagine. Or even realize how much it was needed.
At times we become so wrapped up in Sarahs illness with hospital visits and stays, labs,
doctors, medication, it pulls you away from the whole point in life and that is to serve
God and to live with joy!
So for a moment the kindness of others helped clear our
minds enough to not think about what has happened or what
with joyful memories that will last a life time.
So I thank you and all who became involved with the Dream
Factory for being the living expression of God’s kindness.
Thank you and may God bless you all.
Rides and Fun
On a beautiful spring day, The Dream Factory of
Louisville families came together again for fun and
relaxation at the Annual Picnic on Sunday, May 19
at Turner Park. The Annual Picnic is a very special
time for families to reconnect, catch up and create
memories for a lifetime. There were was a great DJ,
delicious grilled food and cold ice cream, prizes for
the children, a bouncy for jumping about, zoo animals,
to educate, and cars from yesteryear. There were so
many smiles on the children’s faces that everyone had
a great day. The Annual Picnic has been held for over
25 years, and we are so thankful for all our donors
and volunteers to make this picnic a huge success
every year. We could never do without them.
The 25th Anniversary of the
Red Open Golf Scramble,
in memory of Steve “Red”
Polston, was a great success.

Race For The Dream - The Trivia Race
On Wednesday, April 24, The Dream Factory of Louisville
partnered with Louisville.com to host a trivia challenge
fundraiser. Teams raced
to compete on answering
questions about Louisville, The Derby, racing, Churchill Downs
and many other theme topics. The highlight of the night was
a visit from Pat Day, an award winning jockey and Louisville
hometown hero, who offered words of encouragement and
thanked everyone for participating in the event. It was a night
of fun and challenge, with great people, prize winning drawings
and, best of all, funds raised for the children. Thanks Louisville.com.
The Dream Factory of Louisville was selected to assist with the Zombie
5K Run on Sunday, April 21 in Iroquois Park. It was a beautiful day for the
event. Runners tried to out run the zombies in the park who tried to pop
the balloons on the runner’s waist
liline. Everyone got into the spirit of scary craziness, with a
pparty after the run. Over 3000 runners participated, and
the Dream Factory volunteers had fun while earning funds
for the organization. Thanks Zombie Run for letting us
The Dream Factory of Louisville joined in with the
community to celebrate the
Derby by again being selected to
be in the Pegasus Parade. The
theme this year was “Now,That’s
Entertainment”.The Dream Factory
of Louisville took on the theme by
recreating the movie Grease with
awesome looking 50’s cars, donated by South End Power
Car, and great volunteers dressed in character, including
“Sandy” and “Danny”. It was a beautiful day and the parade
was well attended. Community spirit was in high gear.
Thanks Derby Festival and Southend Power.

every participant that entered a special code while registering. Thanks Color in Motion 5K!
