The People

Float from the Hungry Valley State Park

About 2,500+ people visited the 2013 Fiesta Days and
enjoyed beautiful weather, music, arts, and food with
friends and family.

Sergeant Mark Brown and his Citizen Volunteers from Frazier Park

The entire festival was very peaceful and without any
incident. Frazier Park Sergeant Brown and other Sheriff’s
deputies were on hand, just in case. In only one case they
had to issue a citation and one employee of the carnival
rides needed medical aid provided by Hall Ambulance.

The Pet Show with about 15 entries, mainly dogs, but
also a rabbit and a hamster opened the event on Friday
afternoon.

Abbadon” with Devin, Dustin, Ozzie, Jake (Winners in a very close race)

The Talent Show

The Fishing Derby

Organized by Courtney Ann Peterson

About 30 people participated in the fishing derby on
Sunday morning. Successful fishermen (and women)
received a prize for catching tagged fish)

The Log Sawing Contest
Even the judges enjoy the wonderful show

The Talent Show on Saturday afternoon was entirely
organized and moderated by young Courtney Ann
Peterson. Outstanding achievement! Eight young adult
groups or individuals displayed amazing performances in
music, dance, and stand-up comedy. A panel of four
judges (Peter Kjenaas, Jenna Krawczyk, Lisa Johnson &
Dana Dever) determined the three winners: First:
Brendan Coyle & Natalie Mendoza, Second: Josh
Arreola, Third: Charlee Marr + Luis Zungia & DJ
Kimbrough. Congratulations to all!

In the George Erb and Brian Prosser Log Sawing Contest
on Sunday morning more than 20 individuals, little
children as well as strong men showed off their strength
and dedication (particularly the kids!) in one of the four
categories: kids, mixed couples, women, and men.

Nearly 40 commercial vendors showcased and offered
their products, often interesting artwork.

included the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the US
Forest Service, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the
Kern County Sheriff, and the State Hungry Park

The Mountain Memories Board

Exhibiting their work in the Community Hall were local
artists Donny Bowen, Matt Herrington, as well as Lee
Dunnavant and Barbara Ladin representing the Center of
the World Festival. Ten-year old Donny even sold three
of his drawings at the Art Show.

The
annual
Fiesta
Days
Festival
(www.frazierfiestadays.com) is provided by the
Mountain Memories Association. The association was
formed 46 years ago for the sole purpose of supporting
the health and welfare of the Mountain Communities,
with Fiesta Days the only fundraising event.
The first parade took place in 1968 with Myrtle Davis
and Monte Montana serving as Grand Marshalls and the
first Honorary Mayor in 1969 was Dr. Russell Moodie,
M.D.
