jet airways india a
Full credit must be given to Jet Airways (India) for all they have accomplished in just seventeen
short years since their inception in 1993. The serious commitment to reaching their goals can be
seen in the amount of awards won as well as their mission statement. They flatly state they will be
the airline of choice in their home country of India and rise above all the standards of other
airlines. High quality service and reliable operations is also something they are totally committed
to. In the area of domestic air passenger service, Jet Airways is working to meet the goal of
becoming the world class airline of choice for domestic travel. From what we have seen, this
airline seems to be on-target to meet their goals.

Naresh Goyal was the owner of Jetair at the time he established Jet Airways. His company was
responsible for marketing and sales support for foreign airlines operating in India. Mr. Goyal's
original goal was to have Jet Airways offer direct competition to Indian Airlines which is owned by
the Indian government. Indian Airlines was the airline conglomerate from the early 1950s until
1994. Jet Airways was able to emerge and begin flight operations when the Air Corporations Act
was done way with in 1994. Including both international and domestic operations, Jet Airways has
over seventy total destinations that it serves. Nineteen countries in North America, Asia, Europe
Code sharing agreements are extremely commonplace throughout the commercial aviation
industry. Code sharing is the legal agreement between two (or more) airlines that will allow them
to provide connecting air service to each other's customers. Every company that participates in
the agreement benefits as do the people who fly it because it offers them more flexibility. Jet
Airways is involved in code sharing with about a dozen airlines all over the world. With over 20
international destinations, Jet Airways would predictably be interested in forming international air
passenger service code shares. Perhaps the airline may one day form their own air consortium
considering their market and continued growth. The general economic climate has caused Jet
Airways to discontinue some of its international destinations, it still offers service to a large
majority of its original locations. The company has announced plans to resume flights soon to
some of those cities.
