Job Description – RESEARCH ANALYST
35,000 – 45,000 GBP annually
The role of the Research Analyst has two sets of primary responsibilities: (1) collation and preliminary
interpretation of raw data output from the Analytics Team and (2) UK point of contact for US field research
coordinator. Data interpretation tasks include understanding basic descriptive statistics, data visualisation,
and communication of preliminary results to the Director of Research. Field research liaising entails
reporting of daily research quality checks from US teams and communicating directions from the Director of
Research to the Field Research Coordinator.
Masters in a social science (preferably Psychology)
• Understanding of psychometrics
• Familiarity with individual difference theories is a plus (primarily Personality)
2 years quantitative research experience (university or otherwise)
• Descriptive statistics
• Linear Regression
• GLM and Multilevel modelling
Experience managing research teams
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, R, MATLAB, SPSS, and Tableau software packages
Data Collation and Interpretation
• Daily organising of output from Analytics Team to create database of results
• Daily output interpretation and preliminary relation to previously catalogued results,
noting changes in trends and possible interactions
• Daily analysis output visualisation
o E.g. histograms, scatterplot
• Early identification of data issues
o E.g. skewed distribution, non-complete rates
• Daily writing up/reporting of above
• Communicating above to the Research Team
Field Research Liaison
Daily communication with US Field Research Manager centring on field research progress,
summation of issues arising in data collection process, and communicating issues and
resulting directions to/from the UK research team.
