1. Make sure you have the original game: Richard Burns Rally and patch 1.02.
The game has to be clean of any mods and the earliest patch has to be installed. Before going any
further from this step, please make sure you meet the requirement.
Patch link: http://www.gamershell.com/download_7403.shtml
2. Getting the latest physics files
For the latest physics files, visit the official Facebook page of RBR RP(RBR Real Physics)
The download can be found in the Page description, just below the upper banner. (In our case, it’s
3. Unpack the files
You should now have an .EXE(Program) file and a folder named „Physics”.
4. Copy the .EXE into your Richard Burns Rally folder
The Richard Burns Rally folder can usually be found here: „C:/Program Files/SCi Games/” .
This .EXE is the hack that will force the game into doing things. REMINDER! Just because it’s
called a ‚HACK’, doesn’t mean it will hack you. The program will hack the game and make
the newer physics work.
5. The „Physics” folder
This is the folder of all folders. It will tell the hack and the game what physics a car will use.
For example, in-game, you see the selection „Citröen Xsara(c_xsara)”, but when the game is
loading, it will take the physics of Fiat 131 Abarth.
Mitsubishi Lancer(m_lancer)will take the physics of Evo IX N4,
Peugeot 206(p_206 in the folder) will take the physics of a Ford Fiesta RS WRC ,
Subaru Impreza 2003(first car in selection)(i_2003) will take the physics of a Škoda Fabia S2000.
6. Where do you put the „Physics” folder items?
For this, you will have to find a file(or in this case, an Archive) named „physics.rbz” in your main
Richard Burns Rally folder(under „Program Files/SCi Games”). Open the .rbz file. For this, you’ll
have to have 7zip or WinRAR. Once opened, you will have a list of folders. Now, don’t unpack
this archive, just keep it open.
Next, go back to the Physics folder you DOWNLOADED and UNPACKED from the Facebook
page link. Select ALL the folders(c_xsara, etc) and „physics.lsp”, DRAG them into the
physics.rbz archive window(the one you opened from the RBR folder). It should ask to replace
them, press Yes and, once replaced, woila!
Congratulations, you have the physics installed! To use them, open the .EXE and press Play!
FROM HERE ONWARDS, READ ONLY IF YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 N4
You have installed the physics, but you aren’t ready to use them yet, as you have no models installed
that will fit the physics.
1. Download the model
For this, we will use the Czech online site.
Get it from here: http://rbr.onlineracing.cz/index.php?act=dlstart&dlid=145&setlng=eng
2. You have downloaded the model.
Open the archive and go through the 2 folders(model-> cars->) and you will have a bunch of
files. These are the model files the game will use to create the car. Leave it open.
3. Installing the car files
Go to your Richard Burns Rally folder again(Program Files/SCi Games, etc) and open a folder
in there called „Cars”. You will now see the list of the car model folders that the game is
originally designed to have.
CREATE a new FOLDER called „Evo_IX” in there. Once you’ve done this, go back to your
DOWNLOADED ARCHIVE, select ALL of the files you see:
Now, pull ALL the selected files from the archive into the Evo_IX folder you created under
„SCi Games/Richard Burns Rally/Cars/”. Close the downloaded archive. Congratulations, you
have the car downloaded!
.. but the game won’t use it! You have to tell the game that, when you select Mitsubishi
Lancer in game, it will choose the Evo 9 model files, not the original game files.
How do we do it?
4. Making the game use the car
Go Back one folder. You are now in the Cars folder, where you can see your new Evo_IX and
a bunch of other folders
In your folder, is a file named „Cars.ini”. THIS FILE IS THE FILE THAT TELLS THE GAME WHAT
CAR SLOT USES WHAT MODEL AND TEXTURE FILES!
5. Opening CARS.INI
SKIP THIS STEP IF YOU HAVE NO PROBLEMS SAVING THE FILE CARS.INI(Just simply open it
and try to Save it, if it gives no error you are fine): Since there is a small problem with
cars.ini, COPY the file and PASTE it somewhere, preferrably onto your desktop. Now delete
the original CARS.INI in your „SCi Games/Cars” folder and place the one you pasted
somewhere into „SCi Games/Cars”.
Try to save it again and it should not give any errors. If there’s no errors, you’re done with
6. Editing CARS.INI
You’re ready to edit it.
First, you will see a bunch of slots, for example: [Car00] and under it some info.
The [Car00] is the slot number for the car, it’s a bit random as it doesn’t match the in-game
list. You will have to watch the filenames for the car. For example, for us, we see that Car03
is the Lancer in the original game, as the filename says so.
We will edit [Car03]. Find it in the list, and it should look like this:
Now, we will edit it to our liking, so it would use YOUR newly saved Evo_IX files.
It shoud look like this after you are done with making it use your Evo_IX files:
= "Cars\ Evo_IX \ evo_IX.ini"
= "Cars\ Evo_IX \ evo_IX _shaders.ini"
= "Cars\ Evo_IX \ evo_IX _shader_settings"
= "Cars\ Evo_IX \Textures\"
You have now changed it to use your Evo_IX folder and the files in it. See how the names
match exactly the ones in your Evo_IX folder.
WARNING! THE GAME IS CASE SENSITIVE! IT WON’T READ THE FILES IF CASES ARE
DIFFERENT SIZES. FOR EXAMPLE, IF "Cars\Evo_IX\evo_IX.sgc" IS
"Cars\Evo_IX\Evo_IX.sgc", IT WILL NOT SEE THE FILE AS THE ORIGINAL FILE HAS A
Congratulations, you’re done. Now go and drive!
