Hotevilla Village Members/Residents
Hotevilla, AZ 86030

Dear Hotevilla Residents;
Since March 26, 2013, the duly elected Hotevilla Village Board of Directors has been kept from
performing its duties by Ms. Muriel Scott and the self-appointed group who call themselves the
“Interim Board.”
We have been asking for an opportunity to come before the village to answer allegations and
complaints, but we have been denied on at least two occasions. It is important we all understand the
impacts of what has happened and what village members can do to have their voices heard.
To protect the governance of our village and its members, we have passed a Proclamation extending our
respective terms as board members until a village election is held – according to the Election Policies of
Hotevilla Village. The “Interim Board” have placed themselves above the law, rules, and policies that
Hotevilla Village has followed over several decades and have refused to allow for village elections.
In an effort to distribute information based on fact, we will place information and links to documents on
the following social media sites. For now, Facebook will be our main source of information for village

Facebook Page, to post information and receive comments: Hotevilla Village Board of Directors
Coming Soon: Google+ Page, to post information and receive comments: Hotevilla Village Board
of Directors
Coming soon -to discuss governance issues, elections, and receive comments:

We will post documents filed with the Hopi Tribal Courts. Our letter to the Hopi Tribal Council will
update everyone on the current legal status of our filings. The “Proclamation” provides our reasons for
extending our terms of office until new HVBOD members are elected. We look forward to opening up
discussions on these and other important matters of the village.
