About Spottly:

Spottly (www.spottly.com) is a brand new social travel app that makes it really easy for people to
discover and create awesome travel guides on the go, wherever you go. Our app helps you to visually
bookmark places when you are travelling and our mission is to become the largest online travel
community in Asia that will have the most extensive user generated travel reviews of places to eat,
shop, stay and play.

Are you passionate about digital marketing, blogging, and social media? Are you an early adopter of
new social media platforms? Do your friends look up to your social media outlets? If yes, we might be
looking for you!

Spottly is looking for a social media marketing intern for the Summer Holidays with a potential for a
full-time offer after completion. Your responsibility will be to support our Chief Marketing Officer to
come up with interesting and engaging social media content for our various outlets. This is a unique
opportunity for the right candidate – a chance to make a real impact and gain work experience in a
start-up environment! We’re seeking talented interns with a strong desire to learn and the ability to
tackle projects head-on. Our ideal candidate is creative and thoughtful about social media and online
content creation. This is a diverse position appealing to those who enjoy working in a creative and
integrated environment.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
 

•
Assist in managing Spottly’s social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram
and Weibo by creating and curating posts relevant to Spottly

•
Write and draft up to 5 new blog posts per week for Spottly’s blog

•
Write up to 10 in-app travel guides within Spottly’s app every week

•
Attend special events in Hong Kong which spans food, fashion and hotel openings to generate
travel content

•
Work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer to create engaging travel content

•
Identify areas of improvement and formulate innovative strategies to increase Spottly’s online
presence and brand awareness

•
Craft email marketing campaigns

Last year undergraduate students and fresh-grads from recognised local or overseas tertiary
institutes; Interest and/or experience in journalism, communications, marketing or public relations
preferred

Permanent Hong Kong resident or resident permitted to remain in Hong Kong for not less than 7
years preferred but other nationals with rights to work in Hong Kong are also welcome

Clear communication skills in English, Chinese optional

Exceptional knowledge of interactive social mediums (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram,
Weibo, WeChat, Tumblr, WordPress, Mailchimp)

Experienced with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop a plus but not required

Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Accuracy and attention to detail are a must

Ability to author and publish on various social media platforms a must

Journalism experience a must

Full-time during summer (3 months: June – August 2014)

Available to work for at least 15 hours a week

Salary, HK$2,000/month
