fabulous summer camps for youngsters
Yampatika's summer programs are made to provide children with opportunities to get to know
their natural surroundings in a hands-on manner and in full safety. Every single program will
depend on a theme and employs education to inculcate environmental stewardship. Every single
program is specific to age and is carried out by seasoned professionals. Due to the fact that no
two weeks are similar, you can register your kids for all the weeks or only for the team that
interests them most. Themes include the likes of Mini Mad Scientists & Citizen Scientists and The
Forest For The Trees.
All the programs are conducted on Yampatika's Environmental Learning Center at Legacy Ranch
and the 132 acres which include pastures and wetlands present numerous chances for
exploration. The Environmental Learning Center can be found on the intersection of Highway 40
and 131 just outside the city limits. Sizes are limited to 12 children and supervised by a couple of
adults to produce a ratio of one adult for every 6 children. New introductions for this year include
daily drop-in camps for you to see whether your six year old is ready for a full week at camp.
Camp hours have been extended and now last from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
The Recreation Department provides a choice of youth camps that are thrilling and lots of fun and
the activities of each one camp are designed to be challenging for that particular age group. On
day trips, the staff focuses on the skills essential to enjoy in complete safety outdoor activities set
