“31 Days of Praying for Your Future Husband” Prayer Challenge

31 Days of Praying for Your Future Husband
By A Noble Calling
This prayer list has been put together in the hopes of
encouraging you to pray for your future husband daily. It is set
up into 31 days so it will be easy to accomplish each day. The
blessings from praying for your future husband, his family and
your future marriage are uncountable. I encourage you to
continue this prayer journey, even when the first 31 days is
over. You may go on using this as your guide, or create your
own list. God is going to do an amazing work through your
prayers.

This list is separated into 4 sections: your future husband; his
family; you (his future wife!); and finally your future
relationship and marriage. I have also included Scriptures
with these daily prayer guides. It is so important that we pray
Scripture over our future husbands as well! The point of
praying is not to pray for a “perfect man”, but to pray for a
man who loves, serves, follows, and obeys the Lord and who
seeks to grow more like Him. I hope and pray that these will
be a blessing to you! Join me as we seek to cover our future
husbands and their families in prayer, lifting them up to our
Heavenly Father. And may the Lord bless you as you do!

31 Days of Praying for Your Future Husband

Him. Pray that Jesus will always be his first love.

(Romans 6:11)
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself
and take up his cross and follow me.” (Matthew 16:24)
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all
your mind and with all your strength. (Mark 12:30)

2. Pray that he loves the Word of God and that he diligently studies it and applies it
to his daily life.
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day
and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you
will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. (Joshua 1:8)
Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You. (Psalm 119:11)

3. Pray that he is a man of prayer.
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. (Colossians 4:2)
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. (Romans 12:12)
…The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. (James 5:16)

4. Pray that he will be the spiritual leader for you and your family, drawing you
closer to the Lord.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and
instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for
her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the
word. (Ephesians 5:25-26)

5. Pray that he is a protector.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for
her. (Ephesians 5:25)

6. Pray that he will be a godly provider and that he is a good steward of his money.
not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord… (Romans 12:11)
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he
has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8)

7. Pray that he does not have a love for the world and that he desires to please the
Lord above all others. Pray that his prayer and desire for his life and family is
Joshua 24:15.
Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever
wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. (James 4:4)
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men. (Colossians
3:23)
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the

As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:15)

8. Pray that he believes in and desires an Ephesians 5: 22-33 marriage.
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the
head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the
Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought
to be to their husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself
up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of
water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory,
having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and
blameless. So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies.
He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but
nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we
are members of His body. FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER
AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.

This mystery is

great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. Nevertheless,
each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the
wife must see to it that she respects her husband. (Ephesians 5:22-33)
[b]

9. Pray that he has a love for children.
Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the
hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose
quiver is full of them; they will not be ashamed when they speak with their enemies in the
gate. (Psalm 127:3-5)

suddenly fall. (Proverbs 28:18)

11. Pray that he would be humble, compassionate and understanding.
But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES
GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”

(James 4:6)

Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you. (James 4:10)
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has
forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32)
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who is quick-tempered exalts
folly. (Proverbs 14:29)

12. Pray that he would be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger.
But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. (James 1:19)

13. Pray that he will have the courage to resist temptation and the snares of the
devil. Pray that he is free from all addictions and not given to earthly loves such as
pornography, money, lust, greed, anger, etc.
Do not give the devil an opportunity. (Ephesians 4:27)
Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. (Romans 12:9)
Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but
the flesh is weak. (Matthew 26:41)

Himself being the Savior of the body. (Ephesians 5:23)

15. Pray that he would be discerning and grow in wisdom and self control.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without
reproach, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5)
Folly is joy to him who lacks sense, but a man of understanding walks straight. (Proverbs
15:21)
Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know
them. For the ways of the LORD are right, and the righteous will walk in them,
but transgressors will stumble in them. (Hosea 14:9)
Teach me good discernment and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.
(Psalm 119:66)

16. Pray that he would commit his ways to the Lord.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all
your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself
in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD,
trust also in Him, and He will do it. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light and
your judgment as the noonday. (Psalm 37: 3-6)

be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. (James 5:16)

18. Pray that he has a forgiving heart towards others.
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has
forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32)

19. Pray that he would have a servant’s heart and a desire to share the Gospel with
others and be a shining light to this dark world.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded
you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a
lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in
the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)

20. Pray that he is accountable, trustworthy, and patient.
With all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in
love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:23)

be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. (James 5:16)
