Come enjoy the fabulous cuisine and rich cultural heritage of Belgium and
Normandy, France: a scenic canal tour in Ghent, WWI and WWII tours,
UNESCO world heritage sites, the world's best beer and chocolate, the
most beautiful town in the world?
Day 1: Brussels—Our journey begins in Belgium’s capital city with our first
taste of some of Belgium’s gastronomic delights: mussels, frites, chocolate!
Days 2-3: Antwerp—After a walking tour of Brussels and a beer at the
famous Delirium Café, we drive to the charming city of Antwerp, where we
delight in getting lost in its narrow alleys and beautifully ornate squares.
Days 4-5: Ghent—2 nights in picturesque Ghent, criss-crossed by canals
and waterways and overflowing with charm and atmosphere. Enjoy a beer
and chocolate pairing. Visit Sint-Baafs Cathedral with its famous polyptych,
“The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb” painted by the Van Eyck brothers.
Days 6-7: Bruges—2 nights in the magical city of Bruges. On our way stop
in Ypres for a WWI battlefield tour and Poperinge to visit the Talbot House
and Hops Museum. Stop at Westvleteren to sample the world’s best beer!
Days 8-9: Honfleur—2 nights in a beautiful villa in “the prettiest village in
Normandy.” Enjoy gourmet dining on the picturesque harbor. Take a spectacular cliff walk in Etretat on the Channel coast. Visit a cider distillery to
taste Calvados brandy made the traditional way.
Days 10-12: Bayeux—3 nights in a charming inn in the historic center.
See William the Conqueror’s castle and the WWII Memorial Museum in
Caen. Visit Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery, two landing beaches,
Avranches, Pointe du Hoc and Saint Mère Eglise with an expert World War
II guide. Enjoy an excursion to the spectacular site of Mont St. Michel.
Day 13: Connelles—Take a scenic drive to a beautiful manor house on
the Seine River for our last night. Depart from Paris on Day 14.

Ipswich clams, Maine lobsters; Puritans and Gloucester fishermen; rocky
shores and coves; rugged beauty artists love to paint.
Days 1-4: Salem, MA—Our adventure begins in the lively seaport of Salem, 15 miles north of Boston, where the iconic gas lanterns, brick sidewalks, and sea captains’ mansions transport you back to the 18th century.
Explore the historic North Shore of Boston, including Marblehead,
Gloucester, Rockport, Newburyport, and Ipswich, which has more 17th
century houses than any town in America. Sail on a two-masted schooner;
take a clamming lesson; follow in the footsteps of the Puritans; enjoy
plenty of fresh seafood. Day excursion by boat and train into Boston.
Days 5-7: Boothbay Harbor, ME—Stopping in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, drive along the Maine coast to the fishing village of Boothbay Harbor. Side trips to Camden (said to be prettiest town in Maine) and Monhegan Island. Feast on fresh Maine lobster.
Days 8-9: Kennebunkport—Spend 2 nights in beautiful Kennebunkport
on the rocky Maine coast. Explore neighboring Ogunquit, York Harbor, and
Maine’s capital, Portland.
Days 10-12: Cape Cod, MA—Drive south to Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Spend three nights in a charming B&B. Day excursion by boat to the island
of Nantucket, 18th century whaling town. Find out why this region is so
coveted by vacationers.
Day 13: Boston—Take a day trip to the quaint coastal town of Newport,
Rhode Island. Tour a spectacular turn-of-the-century mansion. Drive to
Boston for the last night in Bean Town. Depart from Boston on Day 14.
