5. Installing and Replacing Batteries in STH-03ZB
You will need:
Mounting fixtures
Drill with 5mm (approx. 0.2 inches) drill bit size (if using wall plugs) or 3.5mm (approx. 0.14
inches) drill bit size (if not using wall plugs)
Size 1 Phillips screwdriver
You will need:
2 x AA batteries
5.1. Open the battery compartment using the following two-step action:

4.1 Locate STH-03ZB with at least 15cm (approx. 6 inches) spacing on each side (except
mounting side).
4.2 If it is necessary to pre-drill mounting holes, use mounting cradle to align locations for the 2
holes, then use appropriate drill bit to drill the holes - 5mm (approx. 0.2 inches) if using wall
plugs or 3.5mm (approx. 0.14 inches) if not using wall plugs. Note: pay careful attention to
orientation of the mounting cradle.

5.2. If necessary, remove existing batteries.
5.3. Install 2 AA batteries into the battery compartment.
5.4. The status LED on STH-03ZB should start flashing to indicate its current state:
4.3 If necessary, insert wall plugs into the 2 holes and use size 1 Phillips screwdriver for the 2
screws to secure the mounting cradle. Note: pay careful attention to orientation of the
mounting cradle.
4.4 Install and remove STH-03ZB using the following 2-step actions to ensure mounting has
been correctly and securely installed:

5.5. Replace battery compartment by first slotting base into STH-03ZB then clicking close the
compartment.
5.6. New batteries have been successfully installed.
Recommendation: It is strongly recommended to install batteries into STH-03ZB just before
adding to coordinator or router device as this will greatly improve battery life. For proper
functioning of STH-03ZB and longer battery life, please install alkaline batteries from reputable
suppliers.

Low battery power is indicated by the red LED repeating the following sequence: 2 rapid flashes
and pause 5 seconds. Replace batteries immediately to ensure correct functioning of
STH-03ZB.
4.5 Initial hardware installation for STH-03ZB has been successfully completed.

6.1 If necessary, remove STH-03ZB from mounting cradle (see "Installing Mounting for
STH-03ZB"" section).
You will need:
Sharp pointed tool
Coordinator or router device (WZB-01USBPS or WZB-02485RPS or WZB-01USBPSR or
WZB-05ETPS)

7.1. Ensure coordinator or router device is powered on (see relevant device’s manual).
7.2. Ensure batteries have been installed in STH-03ZB (see "Installing and Replacing
Batteries in STH-03ZB" section).
7.3. Use the sharp pointed tool to apply 1 quick press to link switch on the coordinator or router
device, the blue ZigBee LED should flash 1 flash per 0.5 second and repeat the sequence,
detection can take up to 30 seconds.
7.4. If 30 seconds has passed and no device has been connected, the blue ZigBee LED on the
coordinator or router should return to one flash then pause for a second and repeat the
sequence.
7.5. When STH-03ZB has been connected, the blue ZigBee LED on the coordinator or router
device should flash, it should return to one flash then pause for a second and repeat the
sequence.
7.6. If STH-03ZB has been successfully connected, the green status LED should flash every 60
seconds to confirm successful addition.
If STH-03ZB’s status LED does not flash once every 60 seconds, then it has not been connected
successfully. Repeat above steps until STH-03ZB has been connected successfully. If
STH-03ZB has still not been connected successfully after a few attempts, check it is within the
operational distance of 50m (line of sight) from the coordinator or router device and away from
other 2.4GHz devices that might interfere with its operation.
If STH-03ZB had been successfully connected, but is showing unable to find coordinator or
router device (repeating sequence of 2 flashes and pause for 2 seconds), then check coordinator
and all router (where applicable) devices are correctly powered on. If coordinator and all router
(where applicable) devices are functioning correctly, STH-03ZB may be out of range from the
coordinator or router device, an additional router may need to be added to extend the range.
6.3 Ensure STH-03ZB is connected to a coordinator device (see "Adding STH-03ZB to
Receiving Device"" section).
6.4 Use QuickView Data PS software on PC with coordinator device to confirm STH-03ZB
transmissions are being received and the update interval has been set correctly.
6.5 Replace STH-03ZB into mounting cradle (see "Installing Mounting for STH-03ZB"" section)
as required.
6.6 Transmission interval setting has been successfully configured.

8. Removing STH-03ZB from Receiving Device
10. ZigBee Reset
You will need:
Sharp pointed tool
In the case where the data receivers (coordinator or router devices) for the STH-03ZB are no
longer available or have been reset, to clear STH-03ZB ZigBee linkage to all data receivers,
apply 3-second press to the link switch, the green and red status LEDs should be ON for 3
8.1. Ensure coordinator or router device is powered on (see relevant device’s manual).
seconds, then return to just the green status LED flashing once every 1 second.
8.2. Ensure STH-03ZB is powered on (see Installing and Replacing Batteries in STH-03ZB
section) and has already been connected to the coordinator or router device.
8.3. Use the sharp pointed tool to apply 2 quick presses to the link switch on the coordinator or
router device, the blue ZigBee LED should flash rapidly for up to 30 seconds or until removal
has been successful, removal need to take place within 30 seconds.
8.4. 3 quick presses to the link switch on STH-03ZB, the green status LED should flash rapidly
for up to 30 seconds or until removal has been successful.
8.5. If STH-03ZB has been successfully removed, coordinator or router device’s blue Zigbee
LED should flash once and pause for one second then repeat the sequence, STH-03ZB’s
green status LED should flash once per second.
Recommendation: It is strongly recommended to remove batteries immediately from STH-03ZB
once it has been removed successfully from the coordinator or router device as this will greatly
improve battery life.
9. STH-03ZB LED Signal Status
The table below shows the LED signal status for STH-03ZB:
STH-03ZB’s ZigBee linkage to all data receivers has been cleared.
Recommendation: It is strongly recommended to remove batteries immediately from STH-03ZB
once its linkage to data receivers has been removed successfully as this will greatly improve
battery life.
