Trash Service
Garbage Pickup: New customers within the city will arrange for their garbage pickup at the time they
apply for water service. Any future changes must be done directly through the Solid Waste
Department.
The City operates its solid waste collections by providing residents with a City issued 65 or 95 gallon
garbage cart. In special situations a resident may choose to use their own 20 gallon garbage container.
All garbage must be contained in the size cart you have subscribed to. No bags can be left outside or on
top of the container. Residents may choose to subscribe to multiple garbage carts. The monthly charge
will be included on your utility bill.

Small items of junk like small appliances, small broken toys, etc. should be placed in garbage cart for
collection. Larger items like furniture will also be collected when placed at the street. These items
should not exceed the weight limit of 500 pounds or 4 cubic yards.
Residents are also issued a 65 gallon recycle cart for recycling material and a yard waste cart for yard
debris only.
Yard debris that will not fit into cart may also be placed at curbside but is not collected on a set
schedule. Placing out for collection more than 4 cubic yards or 500 pounds at one time is considered a
chargeable amount.
The City operates on a 4 day collection schedule. All garbage, recycling, yard waste carts, and trash will
be collected on the same day. All items should be placed at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled
collection day.
