for the 2015 Translingua Conference.

TRANSLINGUA
In the age of globalization and growing cultural homogenization, in the age of migration
and increasing intercultural dependencies, in the world deeply divided as a result of
cultural differences and in the context of the ongoing efforts to preserve regional and
national traditions and identities, the issues of language and translation are absolutely
vital. At the heart of these complex, intercultural interactions are various types of
agents, intermediaries and mediators, including translators and interpreters, persons
responsible for the promotion of culture, as well as scholars preoccupied with the study
of language, researchers exploring the role of translation and academics investigating
intercultural communication. The aim of this conference is thus to bring together
representatives of various academic disciplines and diverse fields of expertise to
investigate the following areas which will be organized around the following thematic
panels:

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Papers will be allotted 20 minutes for presentation followed by 10 minutes for
discussion. The proposals including the following information:
name of author,
affiliation,
email address,
a 300-word abstract,
a brief bionote (up to 100 words)
should be submitted to:
translingua2015@gmail.com by 30 April 2015.
The language of the conference is English.
FEES
For formal reasons, there is no conference fee as such.
However, the participants are required to cover the cost of meals, coffee-breaks
and post-conference publication which is €100 (400 PLN for Polish residents)
