STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
OPERA America is offering 10 scholarships to attend
Opera Conference 2015: Increasing Civic Impact in
Washington, D.C. from May 6–9, 2015. This is an
invaluable learning opportunity for burgeoning arts
administrators. Scholarships cover registration fees
only. Recipients are responsible for providing their
own transportation, room and board.
DEADLINE:
• The completed application must be submitted
by March 30, 2015.
• Awardees will be notified no later than April 6, 2015.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Applicants must be full-time students who are
• i ndependent members of OPERA America or
•a
ffiliated with educational institutions that are
current members of OPERA America.
•A
pplicants may be
•u
ndergraduates who have completed or will soon
complete their junior or senior years of study at
the time of the conference or
• current graduate students.
• Applicants must be engaged in the study of arts
administration and demonstrate an interest
in pursuing a professional career in opera
administration or a closely related field.
•A
wardees must commit to attend all days of the
conference (May 6–9, 2015).
• Last year’s awardees are not eligible.
• Preference will be given to students
wishing to pursue professional careers in
North America.
HOW TO APPLY
Attach the following materials in a single e-mail to
LWilson@operaamerica.org:
• Your current resume. Please be sure to include
address, phone number, e-mail address, and degrees
received and in-progress.
• A copy of your student ID or other proof of
full-time enrollment.
• A cover letter describing your interest in attending
Opera Conference 2015. A strong letter will articulate
your interest in working as an opera administrator,
your academic and extra-curricular experience and
training thus far, and what you hope to gain from
attending Opera Conference 2015.
*Please keep in mind that while the conference is designed
to be a networking opportunity for individuals working in
the opera industry, it is not a vehicle for securing a job or
scheduling an audition.
