Blue Ox Construction is a commercial general contractor located in Atlanta, GA with a primary focus in
three specific markets: retail/restaurant interiors, commercial office interiors and light medical (ground up
and interiors). Work is performed primarily in and around Atlanta but often for repeat clients throughout
the United States. The company is part of a holding company that owns and manages various operating
entities with active interest in real estate development/investments, architecture, interior design and
construction. These sister companies provide the opportunity for unique exposure to other facets of real
estate, collaboration and cross referrals for new projects. The overall company setting and culture is highly
entrepreneurial, growth oriented and opportunistic.
Blue Ox is actively seeking qualified candidates for an “Operations Manager” position with a timeline for
placement between 60-120 days. The current management team consists of a dedicated business
development manager, estimator, project manager and various 1099 field personnel. The Blue Ox team is
supported by corporate marketing, accounting and executive staff resources. This position would report
directly to the CEO and Vice President of Finance and Operations. Direct reports to this position would be
the estimator, project manager, business development and field staff.
The candidate should possess a 4 year bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering,
business administration or comparable and demonstrate strong leadership abilities, a minimum of 7 years
work history in a commercial general contracting setting and a complete understanding of preconstruction,
project management and field operations.
The ideal candidate is currently working in a structured setting whereby upward mobility is limited but
individual drive to grow and succeed is high. Must have a willingness to directly manage certain projects as
the company continues its early stage growth plans. Blue Ox anticipates $10M in annual revenues in 2015
with tangible plans and resources to reach $80M in revenues within 5 years. Base salary range $85K-$110K
with company truck, phone, health/dental insurance and a performance/profit sharing based bonus
program which yields between 10-30% of base salary and is directly driven by top and bottom line
management of this business unit.
