Good learning environment is needed to involve all students into learning and to get feedback
from the students. Students should feel comfortable when they are learning, both physically and

learning and teaching practices.
It is teacher’s task to create a favorable learning environment and discipline at a lesson is
important both for the teacher and students. This will encourage the class which will result in

that’s the reason for both sides to show their best. For teachers it may be useful to discuss with
students future plans concerning their common work. It is also advisable to ask them about their
expectations. They can also make a special plan. While making plans for lessons, it would be
good for creating good learning environment to take into consideration students’ wishes.

During the first lessons teacher and students can make plan, establish goals, rules and the
whole procedure of learning. Knowing goals which will be achieved by the end of the course is a
great help in getting good environment on the class room. Students need to have motivation, they
need to know what exactly they’ll get after learning a certain subject.
Teacher and student need to work together on building relationship that would lead all of
them toward an effective learning environment. It is proved that students work harder and with
bigger desire, when they know each other. That’s why teacher should think of some activities,
which will make students closer.
The next important thing is what we have around us. Physical environment plays
important role here. Classroom must tune everybody in a working mood, so here everything
should be arranged for education. Necessary stationary, dictionaries and reference books are
sometimes very useful and that’s why they should be within easy reach for both students and
teachers. It is advisable to change activities, to think of some lessons, which will require
cooperation of the whole class as a unity.
All the above mentioned things are details, which may sound strange. Still, thanks to
them, relations between teachers and students can be changed, and atmosphere in the classroom
can be also improved for better.
It is important for the teacher to set clear rules to create favorable learning environment.
Among the factors essential to be taken into the consideration by the teacher while determining
appropriate rules is the adherence to general school rules. It is crucial that classroom rules do not
contradict well-established and time-honored school rules. Compliance with such general
regulations is indispensable.
Ultimately important factor to consider is the type of environment that the teacher would
like to create in the classroom. The teacher should base the classroom rules on his own
expectations for the conduct of students. Brainstorming expectations should result into several
staple rules for students’ behavior. It stands to reason that determining the consequences for

breaking the rules is just as important as creating the rules themselves. Moreover, the students
should be well aware of the imminent punishment for misconduct. This is critical for good
environment in education.
Another crucial factor to be taken into consideration is that the rule should have a clear
educational purpose – such as securing efficient learning atmosphere for each student. Also the
rule should be rationally related to achieving the educational purpose.
It is of great importance in case of a rule infraction that the teacher reacts immediately.
However, the reaction should be calm. It is recommended that the incident is discussed with the
misbehaving student after class in order to avoid excessive attention, which could serve as
additional motivation to break the rules.
Any teacher, regardless of experience and major, knows how important it is to have a
concrete plan of actions. Classroom rules enable the teacher to handle any situation with
minimum disruption of the learning process and maximum instructional effect. They also serve
an important purpose of teaching students discipline and responsibility.
A teacher should be totally involved with the class, dedicated to his/her students and be
prepared to devote time and energy for them to create good learning environment. Love for
teaching evokes passion and dedication. The enthusiasm of a motivated teacher rubs off on
his/her students, who derive the inspiration and encouragement which actuate their desire to
learn. This keeps the students interested and they tend to retain the course material very well.
Every module should clearly state a take home message for the students.
Identifying the students by their full names and knowing some background information
(like state, city, and country) is very beneficial for creating good learning environment. Having
good sense of humor is an added advantage. The best in a person comes out in a non stressful
situation. Students tend to learn more effectively from an approachable teacher who sets up a
comfortable atmosphere conducive to learning. Thus, the education goes beyond the classroom
and students tend to visualize the teacher as a role model from whom they seek universal advice

on topics ranging from fundamental concepts to future careers options, other personal problems
and recommendations.
I think diversity is one of the main reasons for hostile education environment in US.
That’s why I want to pay special attention to diversity in this paper. The cultural diversity of the
United States is may be the most striking of all countries because a lot of various ethnic and
cultural groups made their contribution to the social, economic and cultural values of this
society. Actually, the idea of teaching courses in cultural diversity is promoted only in the last
few years.
Nowadays there are many separate societies that emerged in the world which differ
greatly from each other. As well as the more evident cultural differences that possess people,
such as language, dress and traditions, there are also important varieties in the way societies
organize themselves, in their shared apprehension of morality, and in the ways they interact and
communicate with their environment.
In educational settings, diversity is usually taken as a meaning of differences in student
talents, national and geographic origin, race, ethnicity, gender, lifestyle choice. But in the reality,
in different conversations about college admissions, the word very often becomes synonymous
with race or ethnicity. While race is currently seen as an important nowadays way to give a
wider array of students access to college, historically it was used to deny any access to certain
groups of students.
There a many ways of discussion of different changes, but one of the most important and
modern focuses relates to nowadays racial diversity. Racial diversity enriches the colleges and
university but it often plays a major role in hostile environment. Today the ethic question is one
of the most common and it can be met in any college all over the world. But the problem is that
it is not taken naturally. For example, colleges and university shouldn’t have any racial or ethic
rejections and discriminations in studying, including entrance exams and requirements. The
environment became very bad if college has any hidden racial discriminations.

There are also a lot of other different ways for diversity. For example, it could be
suggested to ignore college grades and scores on entrance tests, or picking students at random.
Such ignorance harms both students’ motivation and learning environment. That seems strange
and may be wild, but on the other hand it opens the wide way of opportunities for many students.
But in case if Universities don’t take this approach it can also happen naturally. The reason for
that would be the changes in society, which actually happen every few years.
All these questions of diversity actually come form school education, because today
many schools, including private ones have the same way of administrational rules.
Responding to the needs of a changing society ought to be the most important and central
to the purpose of any public college. It should be something the institution is obliged to do, not
barred from usual attempting. The day when it will established, the argument over how best to
achieve diversity can be continued, but as for now, it is not taken as seriously as it should be to
spread good learning environment.
The mission of the diversity in learning environment is to promote a college community
that respects, needs and prizes a diverse and global society. The side of diversity which includes
racial and ethic problems and difficulties should be supported by all students and by colleges. It
is also very important for the educational system of colleges as the ethic experience for students.
Valuing diversity for creating good educational environment is successful only in that
case when each individual gets a sense of uniqueness as well as a sense of belonging to a larger
whole in which this purpose exists.
The importance of good environment for learning increases each year and it needs the
attention of everyone, including administration and students. There many different ways of its
development. One of the most common problems of environment is ethical or racial problems.
Our educational institutions should pay more attention to these problems to create and maintain
good environment for learning.
