Guidance to sellers at the Melbourne Marksmen Airgun Collectors Fayre
Date: Saturday April 11th 2015
Time: 10am for sellers to start setting up.
Location: The Royal British Legion, 87 Derby Rd, Melbourne, Derbyshire. DE73 8FE
1. Strictly no trade sellers.
2. All items brought into the venue must comply with UK Laws. No knives please.
3. Pistols and rifles offered for sale must not be capable of Muzzle Energy exceeding
6ft/lbf (pistols) or 12 ft/lbf (ie. Be “low powered air weapons” in Law).
4. To buy an “airgun” or ammunition in the UK you must be over 18 (Sec 22, 1968
Firearms Act). If you have any doubts politely refuse the sale.
5. All “airguns” are to remain unloaded and uncocked. [A club member can chrono
guns in an adjoining storage room if needed].
Tips from previous sales
Previous events have been extremely busy! We've changed the table plan from previous
events to make it easier for buyers to circulate.
-Be prepared... Arrive in good time. It won't be possible to set up once the doors have
been opened to the public at 11:30
-Price your items. Sticky labels or small hang tags are widely available and give a
starting point for negotiation.
-Have a good sized cash float. Predictably most buyers arrive with notes only.
-Be aware. Whilst previous Fayres have been problem free, we should all be vigilant to
protect against theft.
