F
rom the northernmost tip of
the island on the first week,
down
to
the
capital
municipality on the third
week, more boys from Antique were
initiated into manhood as the
circumcision caravan rolled its way
into five more municipalities in the
province.
The municipalities of Belison,
Sibalom, San Remegio, San Jose de
Buenavista, and Hamtic got their turn in
the
Province-wide
Circumcision
Caravan
organized
by
Antique
Provincial Head Office spearheaded
by our brother from Batch 10, Dr. Ric
Noel A. Naciongayo, PHO II.
A total of 1,101 boys were serviced
in the five municipalities, with
Dr. Naciongayo leading the surgical
team along with Dr. Leoncio Abiera Jr.,
MS II, Asclepians William Matthew
Suaboksan (Batch 38) and Jayrick
Aguirre (Batch 37), and WVSU-COM
volunteers from class Excelsior 2017
namely Kristine Ishil Horlador, Juliene
Sumagaysay, Rigel Trance, Xyra
Angelie Sanchez and Mignonette
Delgado. Also joining the team were
volunteers
from
82nd
Infantry
Battalion and Service Support
Battalion 3rd Infantry Division of the
Philippine Army.
In the capital town San Jose, the
circumcision caravan was held in the
newly-furnished ER room at Angel
Salazar Memorial General Hospital,
while at Sibalom, it was held in the
OR rooms of Ramon Maza Sr.
Memorial District Hospital. The towns
of Belison, San Remigio and Hamtic
held the surgical missions in their
respective RHU buildings.
Already on its third week, the
caravan has already serviced 3,227
indiiduals and will reach its
conclusion on May 26, going down to
the last two towns of Tobias Fornier
and Anini-y on the southernmost tip
of the province.
The Circumcision Caravan was
made possible by the cooperation of
Office of the Provincial Governor of
Antique, Provincial Health Office of
Antique, Department of Health—
Region VI, Municipal and District
Hospitals, Municipal Health Offices,
82nd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine
Army, Order of Asclepius, 602nd
Antique Community Defense Center,
6RCDG, Army Reserves and Local
Government Units in the province of
Antique. #
