Instead of feeling peace and serenity after church I ended
up feeling hurt and sorrowful.
During the sign of peace to shake my neighbor’s hands. I
shook the lady’s hand to my left and she looked down at the
ground like she didn’t want to have interaction with me at
all. And as I touched her hand I could feel the cold heart
she had, the anger, and the lack of love.
Behind her there was an older woman, an elder. This
woman stood there and didn’t make a move when I
extended out my hand for her to shake. And when I came
closer, she then turned to me and looked into my eyes, and
I too could see and feel, a cold heart, anger, and the lack of love.
I began thinking as I sat there watching on, as the children were having their first confirmation taking
the bread of life and blood of Jesus Christ. My thoughts were about how people in the world today
have a high regard for their own families, and love them unconditional. But then they close their
hearts to the outside world, to their neighbors.
It was then I began thinking, I thought life was about love. And if so, where is the Love? For love should
be felt from everywhere.
When I left the church I didn’t feel loved at all. I felt like I didn’t belong there, and that church was
just some form of cover up for the people to believe that they loved one another. Which is true. “Yes
they all loved their families, but where was the love for humanity as a whole”. I didn’t feel it.
Interaction between people of the world is gone. No one talks face to face anymore. No one has
appreciation for life, and all of its beauties. And it makes me sad. It leaves me thinking that love is
doomed within this world. “Do people really know what LOVE really is?”
And if so….”WHY DO THEY NOT SHOW IT FOR ALL MANKIND, ANIMALS, CREATURES,
CREATION?”
To me, it is so hypocritical for a person to say, “No I don’t hate people”, or “No I’m not an angry
person”, or “Yes, I love all things in life.” And then don’t have the connection to love all the living
things revolved around life.
So back to my question. “Do we really know what love is about?”
Love is more than a love for a husband, a wife, a boyfriend, a girlfriend, a son, a daughter, a mother,
a father, a grandmother, a grandfather, a niece, a nephew, a cousin, a godchild. Love is love for all.
For all people. For all things. For all of the Creator’s creations.
For if you cannot honesty love ALL of HIS creations, then I say, “You don’t know what true love
really is.”
And therefore it is my belief that true love needs to be awoke within our very beings. Awoke before
our younger generations learn the misconception of the true meaning of love.
Through this experience I have a deeper desire to continue going to this church, in this community,
and sharing my experiences with love. I know for a fact, things like this happen all over the world. I
know this lack of appreciation for life is not only in this area, but areas in every town, big or small,
and in every city.
It’s time to awaken love throughout the world.
