The LOW-VISION CHEF
Cooking while visually impaired, with a little help you can do it.
Whether you have vision loss from glaucoma, tunnel vision, retinal disease or like my wife
Goldie, have lost your central vision from macular degeneration /RSD, and who is now
legally blind. Vision problems add a challenge in the kitchen.
A Chef does not give up cooking, they adapt, so I have put together a line of products and
tips she uses to keep active in the kitchen.
Our goal is to make your cooking easier, which will promote independent living and a
healthy lifestyle.
Low Vision Chef put together a line of kitchenware in bold colors with tactile cues, we sells
these utensils here to help you adapt in the kitchen with your loss of vision.
To keep herself cooking she uses bright color, lighting, offset color, unique and broad head
tools, along with our color combinations which act as a vision aid to the visually impaired
cook.
This site was designed after watching my wife a career chef work threw learning to cook
with low vision the past 9 years.
I took those vision aids of background colors, tools, lighting, and some tips, and put them in
this site to help you get cooking again.

THE CAN OPENER SHOP
The joseph joseph Cando can opener offers a unique, space
saving design and effortless operation that removes can
lids neatly and cleanly. The circular can opener sits on top
of the can and automatically grips the can's edge as soon as
you begin twisting the large mechanism on top. As soon as
the lid has been cut all the way around, the opener releases
cleanly with the press of a button. Measuring a scant 2.6 X
2 x 2 inches (WxDxH), the Cando won't crowd your
drawers.
The Cando wipes clean with a damp cloth for easy care.
