“1st SALUBONG FESTIVAL ART COMPETITION”
In celebration of the Salubong Festival, the Municipality of PLaridel will be conducting an On-theSpot painting contest with the theme, “ Salubong Festival, A Reason to Come Home“
The contest will be held on August 29, 2015 at the Don Caesareo San Diego Gym, Poblacion,
Plaridel, Bulacan.

GUIDELINES:
ELIGIBILITY
1. This contest is open to all Filipino 16 yrs old and above.
2. Professional and non-professional artists may participate in the competition.
3. Both graduates of art related courses and self taught artists are highly encouraged to join.
4. Employees of the Municipality of Plaridel are not eligible to participate in the competition.
COMPETITION MECHANICS
1. Only Representational Painting popularly called “Realism” and figurative paintings will be
allowed.
2. The medium is oil on canvas or acrylic on canvas.
3. All entries must be unsigned at the time of the judging.
4. Standard 18’’x22’’ canvas will be provided by the organizers during the competition. Participants
are expected to bring their own painting materials such as oil or acrylic paint and other painting
tools.

5.Participation is free. Interested individuals may register by downloading the
registration forms available in our Salubong Festival 2015 official fb Account. Participants are
also required to attach a copy/picture of their previous or most recent art work. Accomplished forms
may be sent via telefax at 795-0366 or emailed as attachment at plaridel_quingua@yahoo.com.
6.The competition will be limited to 100 participants. When participants exceed the expected number,
the committee will put participants on wait list and on a first-come-first-serve basis. For cases of no
show, participants on wait list will be allowed to compete.
7.Participants are required to be in the venue at least one hour before the start of the contest for the
final registration and briefing. They will be given four (4) hours to complete their painting. An
official time keeper will start and end the contest.
8.Late comers up to a maximum of 30 minutes will be allowed to join. However, no time extension
will be given to them.
9.Audience/Viewers will be prohibited from coming too close to the participants throughout the con
test proper.
THE CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
• Relevance to the theme - 40%
• Composition and Visual Impact - 30%
• Technique/Creativity - 30%
1.During the contest proper the presentation of Identification Card (ID) is required. Participants also
have to submit a photo copy of their Registration Form.
2.The Board of Judges will be selected from specialists in the field of the arts and tourism, from the
government and private sectors.
3.Finalists will be notified thru e-mail and/or phone call 3 days after the competition.
4.The decision of the Board of Judges is final.
5.The Municipality of Plaridel shall have perpetual intellectual property rights over prize-winning
works and other non-winning works it may acquire, including the right to use, produce or
reproduce, prepare derivative works of the designs for whatever purpose and whichever
form as may be deemed fit by the Municipality of Plaridel without further compensation to the artist
or his heirs and assignees.
