Margaret Flowers for Senate is hiring a Fundraising Director!
Margaret Flowers is seeking the Green Party's nomination for United States Senate for the 2016
Maryland general election. The campaign is hiring a Fundraising Director. This is a part-time position
with potential for expansion into a full-time position. Initial expectations will be 20 hours per week.
This position may be performed remotely but Baltimore-area applicants are preferable.
Qualifications:
1. Outgoing and pleasant demeanor, good phone skills.
2. Personal organization; well-organized, can multi-task.
3. Organizing experience of at least two years, previous experience with political fundraising,
direct mail, canvassing, issue campaigns and/or political campaigns a plus.
4. Can manage data input; knows how to use Google Docs, Nationbuilder experience a plus.
5. Writes well, able to create campaign materials.
6. Able to do online research.
7. Preferably lives in the Baltimore area and has personal transportation.
8. Bi- or multi-lingual a plus.
9. Flexible schedule.
Salary: Starting $15 per hour. Performance bonuses available upon meeting certain benchmarks.
Responsibilities:
Develop and conduct direct mail and phone solicitation programs, including direct solicitation of
funds from potential donors.
Manage call time for the candidate, campaign staff and volunteers.
Plan and execute re-solicitation mailings. Develop prospect lists and plan and execute prospect
mailings.
Develop and maintain the campaign’s fundraising database.
Write weekly e-mail and social media fundraising appeals.
Assist and train campaign volunteers in fundraising by conducting workshops remotely, at the
Flowers for Senate office and on-site throughout Maryland.
Attend regular campaign in-person meetings and conference calls.
Attend house parties and other campaign events at which fundraising will be taking place. Work with
campaign staff on event coordination and hosting.
Oversight: Will be provided by the campaign manager and candidate.
