perhaps you have dreamed of
Back in 1896 someone named Gottlieb Daimler developed the first motorized truck. He was an
automobile pioneer from Germany, who additionally built the first taxi, as well as the first
motorcycle. This truck was missing much, because it consisted of two speeds for going forward,
one for going in reverse, a belt drive, and a 4 horsepower engine. The original trucks were
intended to transport industrial goods, so when new needs were identified so new trucks had to
be designed to meet them.
Their main early role was possibly in the first and then the second world war, as they could be
seen everywhere, carrying soldiers, both those fit for battle and the wounded, and munitions.
Trucks were also developed for logging, agriculture along with other commercial uses - even for
carrying concrete while it was being mixed and delivering it to construction sites ready for use. An
extremely big truck was subsequently developed specially to carry cars and trucks from their
places of origin to the different points of sale. These days you can see a truck designed and
customised for nearly every different need you can think of.
Trucks are used by farmers to haul all types of things, from hay, to cattle, supplies, and even
small farm equipment. Trucks are very important to those in the landscaping businesss, and
garden maintenance, and tree-felling. Together with the trucks, most of these operations typically
require trailers to carry their equipment and tools around. Trucks tend to be used for a lot of things
unrelated to a project, like all kinds of people involved in recreational sports. When you are a
passionate boater, for instance, and your boat is sizeable, you will need something larger than an
automobile to haul it. Additionally, each of the things that go along with boating need the rear of a
truck to carry them. Many automobile manufacturers also make trucks, and trucks come in
virtually any size, shape or color imaginable, and at different prices.
No more than 2 or 3 people are able to sit in the smaller trucks, while the bigger extended cab
trucks can accomodate 5 passengers with comfort. You can get trucks that are quite simple with
no extras, and there are those that have every possible option that is available. Four wheeling is
certainly big for a number of people, so they need to have a truck that will get them through bogs
of mud along with rough terrain. This usually takes a truck with 4-wheel drive power. Obviously, a
regular 2-wheel drive vehicle is just fine for those of us who don't go to such places.
There are plenty of reasons for needing a truck, and you should analyze your needs to decide
what the truck will be used for, and can it be afforded. Consider the needs of the family should
you have one; a truck is usually not going to be the best choice for the family car. But a truck is
great to have to transport things you otherwise couldn't. Be sure you set a budget you are able to
afford, and don't go beyond it when buying a truck.
