Getting in the swing of things at the Jotun Singapore Golf Tournament 2015
The penguins from the sunny island tee’d off yet another successful golf tournament for its Protective
Coatings and Marine customers on the 2 and 9 of October 2015.
Jotun Singapore held its annual prestigious Golf Tournament over two weekends on the 2 and 9 of
October for its Protective Coatings and Marine customers respectively. Guests were gathered at the
country club on the respective Friday mornings, and much to everyone’s relief, the haze that had
been clouding majority of SouthEast Asia had cleared up on both days.
144 participants took to the greens on each of the tournament days at the breath-taking 18-hole
course at the Sembawang Golf & Country Club Singapore, based on a four-person scramble format
beginning with a shotgun start at 1.15pm. Participants also entered various competitions held in
conjunction with the tournament for prizes, including the Longest Drive, Nearest-to-Pin and the
challenging Hole-in-One contests.
It was then announced barely an hour into the game that one of the participants had made a hole-inone, a first in Jotun Singapore’s history of golf events! Walking home that evening with SGD 10,000 in
cold hard cash was James Lim of Oiltanking Singapore Limited, one of the Protective Coatings

The tournament evenings culminated with the Appreciation Dinners, hosting over 150 guests. Kicking
off each of the dinners were welcome speeches by Bjorn Naglestad (President, Jotun Singapore),
Einar Abrahamsen (Member of the Board) and Morten Fon (CEO, Jotun Group). The Appreciation
Dinner consisted of gourmet dining and an awards ceremony.
“This tournament is a great way for Jotun Singapore to thank our current clients and customers for
their business – nothing better than seeing a smile on our customers’ faces at the end of the day!”
said Bjorn Naglestad (President, Jotun Singapore). “The Singapore team did a fantastic job in
organizing yet another fantastic event, and I am definitely looking forward to the next.”
