Olaoncé Carey It must be so nice to be the bigger person and not be offended by
ANYTHING. I agree, you should be able to mock black women. Your ''art'' is more important
than a bunch of oversensitive darkies.

Robert James Taylor Nowhere does it state that Laquisha is Black, no black make-up is
ever worn, if you see LaQ she is not black, and she speaks in an American accent, Charlie is
American!

Olaoncé Carey So many black people are offended by this act and your response is fuck em?
Why not just drop this act and move on? Why is Laquisha so important to you? This should
be a learning moment for Charlie, and the LGBT community as a whole to be more inclusive.

Dave Cross And by saying 'white gay men have no imagination' you are guilty of the same
stereotyping you are acussing others of, can't you see that? Comedy should shine a light on
life, Charlie's act is about a specific kind of performer not a race and also Laquisha is
portrayed as cleverer and smarter than those around her, the same as his version of Cher, they
are the heroes not the victims of his act.

Tom Cloherty Quite fitting that you don't show your face Steph. That's a mercy at least.
Though I am finding it offensive that the box is black... Must be racist . You absolute idiot.
When you have an ounce of talent as a performer please come back to continue your
ACTUALLY prejudiced and racist bollocks. Go and educate yourself rather than tying to be
a keyboard warrior sweetheart.

Baga Chipz Mbe "Gay white men have no imagination of their own" that to me is
generalising a whole group. Basing her beliefs on the persons sexuality and skin tone. That is
racism in my book.

Charlie Richardson Olaonce I think you need to read up the definitions of racism. "Gay
white men have no imagination of their own" Is generalising a whole group based on their
skin tone and sexuality. That is racism. "Race is a construct created by white people to
benefit white people. Do you know your own history, lol?" You seem to have a lot of anger
towards white people, I hope you find peace.

Olaoncé Carey LOL. I don't need to read up on definitions of racism. I've lived with racism
my entire life. You tried it.

Olaoncé Carey Racism is about prejudice and power. White ppl as a whole have the power.
Whether or not you are racist, as a white person, you still benefit from racism, unconsciously
or otherwise.
Unlike · Reply · 2 · 2 hrs

Olaoncé Carey ...and race IS a construct to create a hierarchy of power, That's a fact. lol.

Olaoncé Carey Charlie Richardson I'm not angry. At all. If anything the white people on this
post are fuming cos people of colour are telling you ''no.''
Unlike · Reply · 3 · 2 hrs

Olaoncé Carey Baga Chipz Mbe I get that white ppl aren't used to being called ''white.'' Why
is that? Cos white is always the default, it's the social norm. Anything that isn't white is the
''other.'' Saying ''white people '' isn't racist. It's talking about white ppl as a whole and the
power they hold in society.

Baga Chipz Mbe I know it's not racist to say white people.. What is racist is by saying
EVERY single white gay man is this or that not every gay white man is the same and neither
is every gay black man.. Me personally see people as people I judge a person on their
character and heart, skin colour don't even come into my friendships.. P.S my grandmother
(moms side) is mixed race x

Khalil West "Many people live with racism. Racism effects everyone at some point in their
life, not just POC. Latinos experience racism, asians experience racism, south asians
experience racism. "
**We understand that. This particular conversation, however, centres on anti-Black racism.
Speaking specifically to anti-Black racism does not deny the struggles and lived experiences
other PoC, many of which intersect with Black struggles and lived experiences.
"Even some white people experience racism, just not at the same degree as other races."
**You seem to be confused as to the definition of racism. It is a SYSTEM. It is not bigotry,
which is personal bias. This is not to say the two are completely discrete from one another
and do not reinforce each other; however racism/whiteness (which is shorthand for white
supremacy) systemically disadvantages people of colour. Can you please explain how white
people are systemically disadvantaged by racism/whiteness?
"People should come together to inform and educate people instead of creating a divide and
blaming a certain race for all their problems."
***We (and I hope that I can speak for and with my sisters here) are blaming whiteness (a
system of unchecked racial privileges) and white supremacy, and those who are not critical of
and/or engaged in destabilising these systems. Real white allies who are capable of critical
thought and reflection understand this.
"The original poster of this topic Chardine compared Charlie Hides to Hitler which was

disgusting and very insulting to me coming from a Jewish background. Insulting white people
and blaming them for the injustices in the world created by the top 1% isn't helping anyone
and certainly not helping the fight for equality. If we were to talk about the holocaust like
Chardine did, then this hatred for cis white gay men is creating a divide, like the Jewish
people were used as scapegoats by the German people during the great depression and
hyperinflation."
**Comparing a white patriarchal ruling class to the victims of a genocide will not stand. And
your comment regarding the 1% needs further discussion. Who primarily comprises the 1%?
And of those represented in the 1% (comparitavely very few) who are not white and male,
what are and have been the conditions of their (still limited) acceptance to the 1%?
"I know you are angry for how the world is and how much bull shit there is in it, but you
shouldn't be fighting a comic who is trying to make people laugh and forget about their
problems. "
**’Entertainment’ is a primary battleground for equality, and a fundamental place for
discourse. What we are entertained by often reflects and reinforces what we collectively find
acceptable. I’m afraid that updated minstralism for many of us fails to be ‘right on’. That is
why this is being challenged.
"He is part of the LGBT, he is a man in a dress, that already is going to offend someone. If
you really care about the fight for equality you should be more focused on the people who are
intentionally maliciously creating divides between the poor and the rich and the races."
**His marginal ‘gay’ identity does not in any way preclude his upholding the tenets of white
supremacy and racial privilege. Also, Black activists (and I’m confused as to why some of
you are assuming that being vocal on social media precludes ‘on-the-ground’ activism, which
most of us are also engaged in – and why many here cannot understand that simply being a
person of colour who is visible, vocal and surviving in the white world is not activism in
itself) are able to see acts like this as directly linking to other forms of white supremacy, and
act against these myriad forms simultaneously. In other words, we are vocal here about this
issue, we are vocal and active elsewhere about other issues which affect our safety and
comfort and humanity. Do not assume that we are not.

Khalil West Racism is not a two-way street. It is a punch. It is systemic/structural, and
empowers/advantages white people while disempowering/disadvantaging people of colour.
One of the reflections of racism (which, again, is structural) is the wholesale acceptance of
blackface (by the way, it's still blackface even if the douchebag left the shoe polish at home)
as "tribute", and the use of (caricatures) of Black women as fucking spirit animals by stupid
gay white dudes. You really need some Google in your life, because I can't do all the work
for you.
Also, the balls thing... good joke. High 5. You go, Glen Coco.
Stupid fucking prick.

Tom Cloherty It's not a two way street?! Are you actually joking me?! Also add being a
homophobic arsehole to your list of talents too. Your ignorance and self-righteousness is
astounding mate. I go back to school - either to get educated or learn some life experience
one of the two. Preferably both.

Tom Cloherty When your own game overlooks the bigger picture each and every time then
no one will win in your mindset. Charlie is absolutely not a racist but I understand your tight
to feel offended... It's your freedom to feel so. But that doesn't make you correct. All I'm
seeing on here is hate from people towards anyone not PCO and that my friend - is racist.
Like · Reply · 21 mins

Khalil West Nope. And lol. And Google should be your new best friend. I don't know how
many times I hate to tell you you're, like, really dumb before you get it and take the bus to a
book.

Tom Cloherty Again thanks for the insult and you are welcome if that's your opinion. I don't
think any less or more of you because of the colour of your skin just as you shouldn't think
any more or less of me because of mine. You can't seem to grasp that so let's leave it there
shall we seeing as you can't seem to find anything more intellectual to say on the subject.
Less hate and more love cos there are far bigger issues in the world right now.
