Fire
Thorpdale 3835
Fire risk as it currently stands is minimal on this property. It is in the middle of a
heavily developed agricultural area, which has mostly been cleared of trees and native
vegetation. Further more, between the primary and secondary fire sectors are a series of
river courses and wet species communities. These conditions make it a low risk property.
But in the event of a fire, the property is well equipped with two large water reservoirs for
use.

Project Concepts
The concept of this design is a long term sustainable and secure
landscape. Community engagement and expression is encourage
by the construction of additional accommodation, communal
kitchen areas, accessibility to garden facilities and other creative
spaces, and a share in the yield and the fruits of labours. Care
of People. Return the Surplus
Another design element is in planning for security from
climate change. Much of the property will be reforested with
native local plants to encourage hydrological activity, water
storage and slow release, and to harness the orographic effect.
This will increase regional water security, local river system
health and help to regulate local temperature. Care of Earth
Lastly part of the project is aimed at recovering the lost
forest ecosystems and associated fauna through regeneration.
This is one of the most important elements of the design as
nurtures our deeper desires to connect with other beings, and to
thrive with other life in an interactive, inter-connected world.
Care of Spirit, Care of Earth, Return the Surplus.
