In May 2015 we launched our first-ever online crowd funding campaign and it
was wildly successful! In just four weeks the Highland Park CrowdBuild
generated $5,000 in contributions from 60 different donors. Now we’re
challenging you to take part in our Valentine’s Day CrowdBuild.

 

What is a CrowdBuild?
A CrowdBuild is a short, three-four week campaign to raise the materials
needed on one of our worksites. It’s like a virtual can drive – but for building
materials!
How does a CrowdBuild work?
When we start a new campaign, CrowdBuilders (that’s you!) promote the
drive in their communities. Then, donors go to the CrowdBuild page where
they shop through the needed items, select what they want to donate, and
purchase the materials. At the close of the campaign, the items are delivered
directly to our build-site from Home Depot to be used by our volunteers.
What is the Valentine’s Day CrowdBuild?
This time around, we’re challenging YOU to gather a few friends or Habitat
club members to be CrowdBuilders and join us for the Valentine’s Day
CrowdBuild throughout the month of February. We’ll ask you to set a goal to
fundraise toward and we’ll provide you with all the materials and support
needed to launch a successful campaign.
What is the High School Challenge?
You will compete against other High Schools in the area. The group that raises
the most will win Habitat swag bags for all CrowdBuilders. For every $1,000
raised, your group will be eligible for 1 build day, subject to availability.
