GET TO KNOW US
THE FIRM
PARADIGM Structural Engineers, Inc. (PSE) partners with architects, contractors, building owners and
government agencies throughout the world to deliver creative, intelligent and cost effective design
solutions. We take great pride in helping our partners enhance the performance of their structures for
relatively low cost, while maintaining aesthetic and usability requirements. Using value engineering
techniques and intelligent design, our services improve building performance, increase the value of
assets, and reduce total cost of building ownership.
Founded in 1999, PSE currently has a team of 16 professional employees, bringing over 100 years
of combined expertise to our collaborative projects. We pride ourselves on maintaining a working
knowledge of current trends in construction techniques and the associated costs with both traditional
methodologies as well as new construction methodologies.

OUR PARTNERSHIPS
Architects
We enjoy working with both local and international architectural firms who share our collaborative spirit
and focus on innovative solutions. PSE helps our architectural partners adapt the vertical and lateral
force resisting systems to the desired architectural design.
Builder/Contractors
During the construction process, excellent communication and quick turn-around times are our priority.
We take time with the contractor to explain our engineering approach, and are willing to explore different
structural systems to ensure workable solutions are implemented. Often, contractors elect to perform
a construction sequence that differs from the sequence depicted on the design drawings, creating an
additional opportunity to work in a cooperative manner to resolve challenges associated with the impact
of the sequence change.
Direct Services
Using value engineering techniques and intelligent design, we can help building owners and end users
improve building performance, increase the value of assets, and reduce total cost of building ownership.
Whether you need us for a small job, or would like us to perform a campus-wide seismic evaluation and
upgrade, we’ll take the time to fully understand your goals and propose workable solutions.

U.S. PROJECTS AND LICENSING
As clients ask us to perform structural consulting services on projects throughout the U.S.,
our geographic reach is constantly growing. Currently, PSE is registered to provide structural
engineering services in the states highlighted in the graphic on the right, and our professional
registration is constantly growing and expanding.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
Sustainable design is increasingly a priority for architects, builders, and end users. PSE has
assisted many of our clients in achieving LEED Certification and/or sustainable design goals
for their respective projects by implementing value engineering concepts. Some of the ways
in which we accomplish this include incorporating alternative solar energy infrastructure,
specifying “green” building materials, designing structural systems which reduce overall
materials expenditure and waste, and incorporating recycled elements or secondary elements
to achieve the desired LEED Certification.
Over half of our staff is LEED accredited, which PSE actively promotes and encourages as part
of our corporate commitment to the stewardship of resources and the environment.
