Why Are We Worth Writing About?
We Do Our Research: Prior to building out a full website, we built a landing page
(http://storkly.kickoffpages.com). We ran a $20 Facebook ad to generate traffic to
the landing page and ended up generating over 50 email subscribers within a few
weeks, validating the concept.
Once we knew we had a valid concept, we set to work on providing the best
experience possible for our customers. To accomplish this, we utilized our
subscriber list from our landing page campaign and offered a free box promotion in
exchange for survey responses.
The most important discovery we made from our survey results analysis was that
mothers tend to make baby product purchasing decisions based on what makes
them feel good. In short, they’re far more willing to purchase an item such as a
stuffed animal or cute onesy, as opposed baby safety products. Overwhelmingly, the
number one response we saw as to what types of items new moms were looking for
was items to make them feel pampered, not to assist them with their baby. We took
this to heart when constructing our final business model and decided to launch as a
subscription box service for moms and babies as opposed to just babies.
We Know How To Drive Traffic: One weeks worth of traffic from Bitly trackable
links alone. During this week we spent a total of $20 on a Facebook ad for
comparison and analytics purposes, the rest was through organic and free social
media channels.

Meet The Storks:
This is us before our first child, can you see the naivety in our eyes?
We both went to college as Communications majors at different schools but knew
each other through intercollegiate events. After college we both went our separate
ways but reconnected by happenstance 5 years later. 3 years after that we
introduced our first bundle to the world. Since that time we have added a second
bundle and learned a lot from the difference between the two experiences.
Even though Chelcy is now a stay at home mom, we both pursued marketing related
careers (which explains the methodical approach we take towards Storkly). Chelcy
is the creative engine behind the business, after a few hiccups in the beginning a rule
was implemented and now nothing customer facing makes it out without her
approval. Richard focuses on the technical and analytics side of the business. Sales,
marketing, website design and maintenance, all run through him. Together, along
with our chief mascot, we are the pioneering storks behind Storkly.co.
(A note as to the .co: When we were in the naming phase, we really liked the name
Storkly. Storkly.com is not being used but is simply being parked by someone
requesting $2,000 for the domain. We like the name and don’t like that tactic, so
Storkly.co was born!).
