ROTF 2

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

STAR WARS
Ronin of the Force
It is the time of the GALACTIC EMPIRE. The
specter of DARTH VADER looms across a
galaxy gripped by fear, suppression, and
persecution. The Jedi have been hunted to
near extinction as those loyal to the
Republic have been conquered and scattered.
Hope still remains in secret. The Great
Purge of the Jedi is not yet over. OBI WAN
KENOBI remains in exile, hiding from his
former apprentice's rage as he protects the
secret of Anakin Skywalker's offspring.
In Kenobi's absence, the last surviving
Jedi Masters will stop at nothing to
destroy Darth Vader and rebuild their
fallen Order. After years of hiding, they
once again unite together against EVIL....

ROTF 3

Ext. Kessel Planet
Pan down from star field to reveal Kessel, a misshapen, barren,
rocky moon-sized asteroid as a super star destroyer, the
Executor, rumbles into frame.
Ext. Kessel Surface, Night
Outside of the planet’s only city, Kessendra, a group of cloaked
figures stealthily make their ways into a cave/ruins. The shadow
from the incoming star destroyer slowly takes over the
landscape.
Int. Kessel Cave
Inside, the figures slowly come into the moon light, about 10 of
them. They huddle into a group.
SHADDAY POTKIN:
It is good to see my friends again. The past ten years have been
difficult for us all. But with the last of us together, we can
begin rebuilding the Order. But first, we know why we are all
here: Vader is coming.
JORAS BEND:
(voice only) We are here for the wrong reasons. (walks out from
the crowd, and pulls his hood down to reveal himself) Any who
call themselves Jedi should not be here.
SHADDAY POTKIN:
Then why did you come?
JORAS BEND:
I came to stop all of you. To save you. We still have a chance.
Not here, but out there.
BULTAR SWAN:
You're afraid.
JORAS BEND:
moldycrow@gmx.com 3

ROTF 4

None of you would be so angry if you were not afraid. You have
forgotten your purpose! We are not warriors! We are teachers.
There are still those who need us. (beat) Pass on what you have
learned...have you forgotten?
SHADDAY POTKIN:
We want to save what's left.
JORAS BEND:
You want revenge.
(turns to leave)
MA'KIS'SHAALAS:
We need you, Master Joras.
JORAS BEND:
Not for this.
(leaves the cave)
BULTAR SWAN:
(beat) Master, I for one did not come here for a suicide
mission. The Sith have become very powerful. We had the strength
of the entire Order, and they defeated us. How can a few stop
them now?
MA'KIS'SHAALAS:
Even one Sith is no match for ten Jedi Masters.
TSUI CHOI:
Far more than ten Jedi have been killed…
SHADDAY POKTIN:
But not all at once. This is our only chance. The longer wait,
the stronger they will grow. And tell me, why did you come?
(beat, as the star destroyer’s shadow covers their cave in
almost total darkness) If you want to go, go now, as there is
little time. He is already here.

ROTF 5

The Jedi look like a mixture of frightened and defiant. One or
two come up front to Master Potkin.
TSUI CHOI:
May the Force be with you all.
Master Potkin stands stoicly as a few of the Jedi abandon his
cause.
SHADDAY POTKIN:
Masters…wait. (beat) If we do not survive this, you will be the
last of the Jedi.
TSUI CHOI:
(beat) Leave it to Kenobi. (sarcasm) I hear he is very
interested in helping the Order these days.
The deserters leave the cave as the Jedi stand silently.
Suddenly, they see flickers of red reflecting on the opening of
the cave. Saber clash noises are heard, but not for long. The
Jedi one-by-one turn to face the opening together. After a few
moments of silence, a deep, mechanical breathing can be heard. A
dark figure makes his way into the cave and menacingly towards
the Jedi as the breathing grows louder. His face is not seen,
only a silhouette.
SHADDAY POTKIN:
My friends, my brothers, my Masters. The Force will be with you.
Always.
A red light saber ignites as the figure continues heading
towards them. Potkin’s lights in response, follows one-by-one by
his companions. They spread out, and attack in symphony, but
many are quickly and effortlessly cut down by Vader, whose Sith
powers choke and throw the Jedi left and right. Rocks and
boulders fly into others, simultaneously as Vader engages them
with his light saber
Cut to Master Joras a ways in the distance. He stops to look
back towards the cave, where he sees flashes of light from the
massive light saber duel. His head drops, as he regrets leaving

his friends to die. Regret turns to anger, and he rushes back to
his friends.
Vader has noticeable difficulty dueling, as his speed cannot
match theirs. He grows increasingly more fierce as the tide of
the battle turns against him, and one by one cuts them down,
until only Potkin is left. He eventually bests Potkin as well,
who loses his saber. Vader extends his arm towards the Jedi, who
grasps at his throat in pain.
VADER:
Where is Obi Wan Kenobi?
POTKIN:
Gone…he’s been gone since the Purge.
VADER:
Tell me where he is and I may spare you. Consider this offer
carefully, Master Potkin, as it may determine the very existence
of the last of your Order.
POTKIN:
(struggling to speak) You still lack foresight. It was a trick,
Sith. Kenobi’s not here. It was a trap…for you.
VADER:
Your plan has failed, Jedi.
Potkin uses the Force to bring his light saber to him. As it
gets to his hand, Vader plunges his light saber into Potkin’s
chest.
VADER:
Your Order is over. I will find Obi Wan Kenobi eventually. And
when I do, I will determine the fate of the Jedi.
Suddenly, Master Joras appears in the cave entrance. Defeated,
he scours the bodies for signs of life. Suddenly, he hears the
familiar breathing behind him. He knows that this will be his
end.

ROTF 7

VADER:
I am glad to meet once again, Joras. Your Order is over. I will
find Obi Wan Kenobi. With him, the fate of the Jedi will be
sealed...
Joras ignites his saber and turns to charge. Cut away.
Cut to a wide shot of the carnage. Vader stands stoically,
surveying the corpses of the fallen Jedi as he turns off his
lightsaber. Joras lies alongside his fellow brothers and sisters
as he clings to life, watching helplessly as the monster
disappears into the wind. All that is heard is the howling of
the wind, overcome only by the machine’s breathing as he
disappears.
Int. Jabba's Palace
Hard cut to the dingy, dimly lit corridors of Jabba's palace,
tracking down the hallways where gradually, more and more
creatures appear in frame on the way to Jabba's throne room,
where a deal is going down. What appears to be a bounty
hunter/gunslinger looms on the outskirts of the events of the
depraved party scene, distracted by the dancing women. His comm
unit begins chirping, breaking his trance.
LEEBO:
(over the comm unit) Sir, we'll never get hired again if we stay
here all day. The code to open the prison system hatch is 1138.
You will need to open it-His focus returning, the gunslinger casually steps away from the
crowd towards a nearby computer terminal. He pretends to be
looking at some inconspicuous material as the patrons walk by.
When the coast is clear, he rapidly hacks into the system, the
rate at which the computer flashes implying some technical
genius, finalizing the task by inputting '1138.' Slowly and
stealthily makes his way down into its depths and into its vast
prison system of debtors and criminals. Finally, he stops and
takes off his mask to reveal an overconfident-looking low-20syear-old human male, bright red hair and rugged good looks. He

pulls up a communicator on his wrist as he brushes his hair
back.
DASH:
Leebo. (beat) Leebo.
LEEBO:
Captain.
DASH:
Leebo, where is--?
LEEBO:
He has entered the palace from the West 4th rear hatch on the
prison level.
--Sir, he is in your close proximity, moving steadily in your
direction at a speed-DASH:
Whoa whoa whoa stop. Just keep me updated. Simplify it to a
distance, pal.
LEEBO:
(beat) 300 meters.
Dash slowly moves through the dark corridors, hiding from
guards.
LEEBO:
250 meters sir.
A guard hears the comm link and moves towards the noise to
inspect. Dash fumbles to turn off his communicator.
LEEBO:
200 meters.
Dash begins frantically ripping at his wrist comm to silence it
as a guard approaches.
GUARD:
moldycrow@gmx.com 8

ROTF 9

(grunts)
LEEBO:
150 meters.
DASH:
I...uhh....
GUARD:
(aggressively grunts and aims his pike at Dash)
DASH:
I'm looking for...a prisoner. He's in block-The guard begins grunting louder and walking towards Dash, his
pike charging up to fire at the intruder.
LEEBO:
100 meters.
Dash begins backing up and fumbling for his blaster as the guard
gets the draw on him, his pike at full charge.
Suddenly, a dark figure darts through the background. The guard
is startled and fires into the wall. Down the corridor, a few
other guards awaken from the commotion. Dash pulls his gun up,
but the guard hits it out of his hand with the pike. They begin
grappling, with the boar-like creature easily gaining the upper
hand, tossing Dash like a rag doll.
About five guards burst in and they contain Dash. They all begin
arguing amongst each other about what to do with the intruder,
when suddenly they begin acting strangely, as if they are all
struggling to stay awake. Dash stares at his captors
incredulously, as they loosen their grip. Confused by his easy
escape, Dash continues down the corridor, arriving at the right
block.
DASH:
Leebo, I thought you said he was close.
