Postdoc position to study mouse neural stem cells
Baffet lab, Institut Curie, Paris
Our lab focuses on the mechanisms governing neocortex development, with a strong interest on the
role and regulation of the neural stem cells. We want to understand how neural stem cell proliferation
is tightly controlled, both spatially and temporally, to allow for the efficient formation of the highly
organized neocortex. In addition, we wish to characterize how variations in neural stem cell behavior
may account for the large expansion of the human brain, but also how alterations may lead to
pathological brain development.
The lab is part of Institut Curie’s department of cell biology (UMR144), located in the heart of Paris in
a highly stimulating multidisciplinary research environment.
We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with a background in cell biology, developmental
biology and/or stem cell biology. Background in neurobiology is a plus but not compulsory.
Applicants should have strong experience in light microscopy, preferentially including live cell
imaging. Prior experience in any of the following topics would be a plus: mouse genetics, genome
editing, tissue/organ live imaging, stem cells, cell polarity, cell cycle and/or molecular motors. The
candidates should demonstrate capacity for multidisciplinary interactions, including with clinicians.
Applicants should send their CV, a cover letter and two references to alexandre.baffet@curie.fr
